I got to watch him do it live at Talladega in 2000 with Kenny Wallace pushing. I'll never forget that moment as long as I live. Dale was and still is 'The Best!🙏💯🏁🏁🏁 We miss you. We also miss NASCAR Racing. Don't know what this shit is today.🤔

I was also at that race, upper Deck start finish line. I think it was Dale was 17th with five laps to go at the restart n won. It never crossed my mind that would be the last race he would win.

I stuck with them right up to the Bubba Wallace thing. They lost a viewer for life then. I'll never watch another on TV or go to another track to watch in person. They died when they went woke.

It was much better after he was gone. No more restrictor plate cheating and no more crashing people that he could not pass legally. Even this car did not pass post race inspection.

I keep Dale Sr. In my heart, everyday. NASCAR died when Dale did on 02/18/2001, we never recovered and NASCAR sure hasn’t. Dale was the Man, the Intimidator, and the Legend, no one will ever touch his legacy!

Dales car failed post race inspection. The car was too low on the height, but NASCAR deemed it didn't give him an unfair advantage. I called b.s. back then and call b.s. all these years later.

I don't care what driver wins, but if the car fails inspection, then they should be disqualified, and that goes all the way back in the day when Richard Petty's car failed inspection but was allowed to keep the win with an oversized engine.

I like the SBC however history would tell a different story. The 351 Cleveland made more horsepower per cubic inch than the SBC with FACTORY components than ANY small block ever produced.

@@padrat88 Funny that bit of info never showed up in my neighborhood, I don't know of any of these engines in stock form nowadays, but the small block Chevy won that war many years ago, the SMB Chevy went on to become the most reliable, most dominant automotive based racing engine in history, still today winning more races than all other brands combined.

Soaked tires and traction control. They had wheel sensors on each wheel. If the rears spun more then the fronts it cut timing thru the MSD spark box.

I think cheating is more prevalent now, they don't even check the cars or engines anymore, only on a periotic basis, who knows how long Toyota was cheating with their bodies a couple years ago, until a whistle blower turned them in, this year Toyota was cheating with the Chevy RO7 spec engine for at least 2 months, until a whistle blower, they don't even check the engine after the races anymore, only takes a couple minutes to at least check compression and displacement, but now that Toyota has controlling interest, they don't want that.

Racing was a big family thing back then too. Sure, there’s Ty Gibbs, the Dillons, etc but by and large it ain’t that much different. Back then we had the Pettys, the Earnhardts, the Allison’s, the Wallace’s. Not exactly the same I get it. But by and large most of the drivers are from regular backgrounds. And Chase is the only recent champion who is from a famous background. Maybe kinda-sorta Ryan Blaney too, but not anything like Chase Elliott.
