What I like about Dale Jr. is that he doesn't sugarcoat anything with regard to his dad. In other words, Dale Jr. portrays his dad as human with a loving side and a rough side with regard to the father/son dynamic.

So many of these podcasts are incredible. This one was just as incredible. For a guy who is supposed to be an introvert he sure does expose himself and I absolutely love it. I wasn't a fan of Jr until after he stopped driving. He is certainly become the biggest ambassador for NASCAR! That is why he deserves the hall of fame induction! Singlehandedly does more for the sport than anyone!

When he or another guest tells a story about Sr. you almost think “no way they’re just bullshitting, Dale was as tough as nails and a huge hard ass!” And yeah he was on the track and in the garage it was all a part of his “image” but to hear stories like this you realize he was just trying to be a father and you realize that the intimidator was as human as anyone else.
@Bonkrr3 жыл бұрын
@@christopherweise438 Agree completely. I was never a Sr. fan, I've always been a Ford guy so I was much more behind Mark Martin and the RYR guys (whether Davey, Ernie or Dale Jarret). Didn't really care much for Junior when he was racing by extension. Simply put though, the more I watch and listen to Dale Junior in his podcasts and other interviews........he's the most genuine guy NASCAR has ever had. Unlike his father, Junior is simply impossible not to like.

I just love how Jr. puts a human face and emotion on the man and legend of Dale Sr. And the guests do as well. We all know that Dale was the greatest driver and most feared man in the entire sport, these stories don’t take that away but shows that even the Intimidator was just like my dad or someone else’s dad, human and wanting his kids to be the best they could be at whatever they did.

He was legend in the area I grew up for entirely different reasons. I wasn't always a DE fan but I turned around and began to like him out of respect. I am no NASCAR FAN, but I think your much better as a interviewer, in my opinion. Weather you raced cars or not, you have History and the memories to pull from. I have listened to your podcast and enjoyed them but prefer your "youtubes" much better. I like seeing your facial expressions tied to what your saying or responding too. When my Dad was alive, I'd listen to his stories, but more so, I watched his facial expressions. How his eyes reflected what he thought, or how his face would change from moment to each moment. Those were the event's I remember during his stories. When I watch you sitting there, on your side of the table, captivated about what people you interview, or those moments when somebody is talking about you or your DAD or even competitors you hated or liked, that's the magic that makes me stay around. The intensity in your eyes, or a thought or idea pondered, this is what makes me coming back to see you again. Thank You for stories and I am happy you enjoyed your Dad, like I enjoyed mine. Thanks.
