My son has been bull riding 4 months now and I am making him watch this interview. Love it Dale!

No reason to have to make him watch this video. If he’s riding bulls he should WANT to watch this video and lots of other videos to learn when he’s not riding. Should be on his mind all the time.

I used to watch the Mesquite Championship Rodio on TV back in yhe day! I've always loved Don Gay! He had a bucking horse that used to be mine. He liked to flip over backward, and broke my back before he went to the rodeo. Those were the good old days.

This kind of Wisdom comes in soooooo many places! And Donny - you nailed it! Dale - I noticed the total respect for this man - every time he said something you ended with your comment, "Yes Sir!" Appreciate that immensely.

Great man, great interview. Donnie would never hesitate to brag on his building (which he has every right! He IS the greatest) but he never says a word about what a great heart he has ( which is HUGE) He's influenced so many lives, and prolly doesn't have a clue as to the untold lives he's touched🥰

You’ve been hitting it on the money with these guests recently, It’d be cool to see some of these saddle makers come on like David Urlacher or Randy George both great guys and cowboys. Great job man

That's what I was thinking! I'm kind of disappointed though because it's been 2 days! 1.4k views but only 100 like? What's the matter with y'all? You say you're all PBR Rodeo Fans and that's all DON GAY man! Y'all understand?!?! I mean are we getting that old? Ya know I love JB, Salvino, Ky , and all them but THIS IS DON GAY! He's talking about Larry Mayhan letting him borrow his chaps? The days of Tuff, Jim Sharp, Scott Breding, Cody Lambert! If these GOATS didn't show JB how to do things this way, that way there would be no Dragon Slayer! No Aussie riders! JB said if it wasn't for Jim Sharp and Tuff being on him EVERY SINGLE DAY , like I said there would be no Dragon Slayer. Man... I feel like he and Dale are being so disrespected! You know what I mean. 🤜🏻🤛🏻 Cheers 🍻 and Happy New Year to us TRUE RODEO KNOWERS AND OUT OF THIS WORLD RESPECT! I would've walked a thousand miles to be at Rodeo that those old boys were riding in! That'd be something wouldn't it? Was Bodacious around yet? Yeah he would have. So would Sugar. I'd love to see the old Bulls too! There's a picture somewhere of Scott Breding riding Bo. They had him in some make shift protective gear. 😂 An old Baseball player catchers mask, the vest, the same kinda material wrapped around his arms and legs 😂 I gotta find that picture! If Bo would've smashed Scott's face, he would've looked like he got his face caught up in a hot iron waffle maker for about a month!😂 Sorry for the long chat but I always get a kick outta seeing Scott riding Bo in that catcher's mask! He said "It was flying all around his head so much I couldn't see dang thing!" " That get up made it feel like he was in a puffy straight jacket!" 😂❤️🤠🚨

I'm really disappointed. 1.4k views and only 100 likes. WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH Y'ALL?!? DON GAY 8X WORLD CHAMP! Larry Mayhan let Don wear his chaps. LARRY MAYHAN! Are all the real PBR Rodeo fans away in some foreign land? I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone! 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 + all the younger PBR Rodeo Fans too young to know who Don & Larry are? I would've walked a thousand miles if I had to see those Rodeos! Can you imagine all the other greats who would've been riding with Larry and Don? Bodacious be there? + Sugar? Scott Breding? Tuff?(Am I too far ahead for those to be there?) I haven't watched it yet but I sure am going to acknowledge Dale for having him on!❤😎🤠🚨

Bulls are a lot ranker than they were in the 70's, just watch the 1976 NFR and you can see it, difference between night and day. Don is full of crap, if he thinks bulls were just as rank in his day. Red One was not a rank bull, maybe for 1976, but not by today's standards. Tornado, was not a rank bull, maybe in 1967 he was, but not by today's standards. If Don could come back today as a 22 year old and if Red One could come back today as the same bull he was, the judges would only score him maybe an 84. He would not get a standing ovation today either. If Don could ride Bushwacker or Bruiser, then he would get a standing ovation, but I don't think Don could ever get Bushwacker rode. Tornado was the Bushwacker of the 1960's, no one could ride him. If you look at Tornado today, he is not all that great, by today's standards. He would no longer be a great bucking bull. Don Gay was a better bull rider than Jim Shoulders, but JB Mauney is a better bull rider than Don Gay, and so is Sage Kimzey. The danger level has gone up about 10% since the mid 70's, so you do need a helmet on some of these bull today, if you are smart. You didn't need a helmet during the 50's , 60's or 70's , but you do need one today, on some bulls.

Wouldn't b be rodeo without Donnie Gay...I also agree with Donnie about the team concept they're pushing now...rodeo is an individual sport...there is nothing wrong with that.
