Love the vietnam stories, Mike. It's important for you and guys like you to get their stories told. They aren't getting any younger. My uncle did 2 tours as a marine in Vietnam and is no longer with us due to agent orange complications. I really wish I had gotten to hear his story, but he never liked to talk about it.

Fantastic interview. Grew up around WW2, Korean and Vietnam vets. Great respect for all of them. WW2 vets literally saved the world and then just came home and acted like nothing even happened. Korean vets got fed to the wolves but still saved South Korea against impossible odds only to be ignored and forgotten. Vietnam vets never stood a chance thru no fault of their own. Got treated like dirt by our government and the American people. They all deserved better from the country that sent them. Knowing all that I still joined after 9/11. It was the right thing to do even though the politicians screwed us over from day one. Thanks for interviewing men like this while you still can. Thanks for everything else you and others like you are doing to raise awareness and keep us informed.

The "rpg" may have been an American SAM that wasnt supposed to be in Laos/Cambodia. Kinda like the "rpg" that took out the 24 operators on the qrf for Redwings....ask the couple devgru guys why they were pulled off the chinook last minute. Because a higher pay grade knew there were heat seakers in the area. Same shit as Nam. The CIA had Special activities division back then too. Spooky shit.
