Fun fact Peter Cushing was considered for the part of The Doctor about three times. One when they were the show was launching, the other when they were finding William Hartnell's successor and the third time when they were finding Patrick Troughton's successor.

One thing I'll say in favour of these films: their depiction of Susan was much MUCH better than the original stories

A Peter Cushing trilogy sequenced like the first target books would be interesting instead of the following Dalek stories. 1. Dr. Who And The Daleks 2. Dr. Who And The Zarbi 3. Dr. Who And The Crusaders

I prefer this to the other movie. Some of the practical effects are great in a low-key 60s way. The Saucer is an amazing piece of model work. But I think it's the campy 60s feel of this really sells it to me. They doubled down on that aspect of it from the first but it's just good fun. Good cast too, it's always nice to see Philip Madoc! (He'd be my choice to play Mavic Chen if they made Masterplan into a Cushing movie)

i like the Cushing Films. He does a nice job with the role. Feels a little Hartnell-ish, but enough different that he feels like he's doing his own thing. Shame we never got a third, as that would have been 'The Chase'. First movie is probably the best, but the second has a better Tardis crew. Always preferred movie Susan to TV Susan, to be honest.

What always gets me is, despite the title, the complete lack of effort to make it look like it's set in anything other than contemporary London. Other 60s films/TV at least tried to look futuristic. Did the Daleks bomb London back to the 1960s? Or maybe the title refers to the time of the attack - 21:50, After Dinner...

The TCM channel had both movies on several months ago and I watched them for the first time. I actually think this one was better than the first one. Bernard Cribbins is great.

I like it more than you do, but I don't love it. I feel Peter Cushing makes anything better, even stinkers, and these are both at least decent, fun watches.

Was always told this was the better of the two movies, but I think I've watched it four times and made it to the end once. Real slog of a film, not saved by some amazing Daleks and Bernard Cribbins. Apparently Peter Cushing was sick during filming so a lot of his role was cut or reduced, which the film definitely suffers from.
