The good thing about bali is they understand tourism. That motorcycle guy searched for you a bike then gave you his motorbike and gave you a discount (usually 80, he gave you 70) a lot of other places see a tourist in distress and they hike the prices up.

This scooter business made a killing before covid. 80k for one day per scooter, for 35 scooters assuming they are always all rented out that makes 6000 USD per month. And that's without the 5 cars he mentioned. Sure, he has to pay for maintenance and his one employee, and taxes maybe? So at the end that may leave maybe $2500? In a country where a cheap meal costs $1. That would be the equivalent of making $35k after tax in a country where a cheap meal is $15!

Dude i love you. I am a fan of Pakistan and India videos. What you experienced there was truly an adventure. The videos of you drinking tea with Pakistani youth and then being a guest were amazing. Your dialogue with young people on dangerous temples and embankments in India was wonderful. I'm in favor of you communicating more with local people. I think you should communicate more with locals, new people, different people, learn about their cultures and make friends with them. if u want to just strolling around in a quiet road (but still get the nature, beach or waterfall) you can get in to the north, maybe in singaraja and karangasem.. you can stay in local hostel/hotel/resort around sawan or tejakula and there are so much places you can explore like: les waterfall, beaches, or tianyar savana too in karangasem!!! and what most important is: everything cheaper in north, trust me.. once you get there please try nasi samsam^^

At the end, the lady cooking the Prawn ausce tiram, the stuff in the blue cup was Maizina. It is corn flour mixed with a bit of water, this is used to thicken the water in a stew or stir fry like this. It is pretty much universal. Even used in the UK.
