@@philosotree5876 1.000 Astartes is a Chapter. They are limited to Chapter of 1.000 due to the whole Horus Heresy thing... A legion, from the pre-Horus Heresy era could be anywhere from 10.000 to 250.000 strong.

True, but a post-heresy chapter/legion still is a max of 1.000, unless they're notcodex Astartes compliant (pretty unlikely with the Ultramarines). Could be the Ultramarines legion and some of their successor chapter acting as one legion. But lets be honest here, these videos aren't exactly lore correct. I mean, the Emperor is up and fighting, instead of being an impressive skeleton on a throne. Another explanation could be that, due to warp shenannigans, the Black Templars could have been blasted into the past before the Legions were limited to 1.000 members.

The Knights Templar (or Templar Knights) were an order of knights in the crusades, the Black Templars are a Space Marine Legion from 40k. Black Templars aren't referred to as Templar Knights. RIP Jacques de Molay.

those orks with the dragon wings are Azhag the Slaughterer, and he is very much so a hero unit. so you just put 500k of a hero unit on the field

The black templars are rarely a problem in balance for this game. While strong they often push too far forward and get surrounded eventually. Unless they massively out number the enemies, or your own units are also on attack to follow them they usually die off eventually as they push beyond their supporting fire.

As for the first fight yes the Space marines are good, but the only reason they held out was the position they were on. The high ground gave them massive lines of sight, prevented the bodies from piling up to block their lines of fire and/or drown in the blood. The narrow path also made it far easier to prevent getting flanked. On a more flat ground though those same space marines would die in seconds to so many Hero orc units.

one of the main weapons for the Ultramarines are Bolters, Imperial guards are Lasguns, Death Korps are assault rifles (forgot what the weapon was called)

I'd agree that LOTR and Harry Potter, etc. etc. are cool but I also feel like they leave very little space to explore, whereas 40k specifically leaves a lot of space for untold stories that keep your mind going "but what if X fought Y" or "What about this?" and that story could actually be "real". But yeah LOTR is cool.

For the first one, I wouldn't call it a clear cut victory for the Space Marines, as their numbers were going down. In time, they would've lost. For the second one, it's possible that the Space Marines are able to win, because the Emperor's HP is so massive.

I feel like the way these units are set up emphasizes the success of Combined Arms Doctrine. Utilizing the strengths of units to complement each other. No reason to not have the armored units protecting the ranged units.

I always love this map, too bad so many creators set up their defense units in stupid ways. This was done pretty well all things considered, too bad about the Space marines being stuck on something in the wall. Most the match there wasn't a single bolter round on the front lines.

if you're having difficulty learning the 40k lore. try Bricky's video's. it's easy enough for non-fans to get the basics. i've seen other youtubers that were not fans get the gist of it from their reaction videos. you'll love it cause , from what I watch in your videos. you like to make your own lore within Star wars universe. 40k is a very fan ficion friendly universe.
