ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! So for starters, your art is amazing as always. The way you told his story in keeping with the song and hit all of the critical aspects of his journey is perhaps the most impressive thing about this song and your work as a whole. However, the real kicker here was the song choice. I had no clue what direction you were going to take this in. It could have been a battle heavy song or a song dealing with themes of leadership and responsibility. Any of those would have worked super well and with as complex as his I am sure there are other directions as well. But instead you went with a song which discusses age, lost youth, who you were compared to who you are now. This song choice, in conjunction with your phenomenal use of visuals, captures Dalinar perfectly. At first the upbeat nature of the song matches the early parts of his life, when things were well. But as the song becomes more tragic, so does Dalinars life. Reflecting on all the evils he did. Although the chorus is the same, and it is still upbeat. It feels so sad. It feels like even as the song is upbeat you get this sense of loss. Which again matches Dalinar perfectly. I also appreciate that you ended with his redemption in the end, as he finally is forgiven. Thank you again for all of the tremendous work it took to create this. This was the one I was the most excited to see. You did it perfectly.

“Why are we at war, Brother?” “This again?” Dalinar said. “Look, it’s not so complicated. Can’t you remember how it was back when we started?” “Remind me.” “Well,” Dalinar said, wagging his bent knife. “We looked at this place here, this kingdom, and we realized, ‘Hey, all these people have stuff .’ And we figured… hey, maybe we should have that stuff. So we took it.” “Oh Dalinar,” Sadeas said, chuckling. “You are a gem.”

It’s my head cannon that this song is the Thrill singing to Dalinar; reminiscing about all of the fun and adventures they had in the past. (Beware animatic/book spoilers ahead) Point 1: The entire animatic is framed from the perspective of looking through the red mist of the Thrill. Point 2: The song hits a nostalgic low note when Adolin is born, and the singer framed as now being on the outside looking in at Dalinars new life; which has no place for the Thrill until Dalinar returns to war. Point 3: The song ends when the Thrill is imprisoned and can no longer sing. Thank you again for another amazing animatic!! I can’t help but find myself watching these over and over again. There is something about how everything in the animatics tie together to make the journeys of the characters feel so impactful and real. They make me look forward to doing re-reads of the books and give me a much greater appreciation for the story each character has.

That's awesome! It is a good and fitting idea, and it would work with Book 1, 2, and possibly even 3, just different scenes and so...
