Our Civilization is one of the oldest civilization in the world, As per books, Caste or Varna system was only for classifying job with skill. Those who earn skill they are categorized. New Delhi, Aug 24: Breaking the caste barriers and taking a revolutionary step the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has trained over 5000 Dalit Priests (Purohits) across the country, 2500 amongst them are from Tamil Nadu alone. This is being done as part of VHP’s mission and practice of ending caste discrimination and untouchability prevalent in the society. This is considered as a great success on part of the VHP, said Vinod Bansal, National Spokesman of the organization. He said that due to VHP efforts many such priests are included in the panels of the government-managed temples. “We have achieved huge success in southern India. There is a large number of Dalit priests in southern states. In Tamil Nadu alone, 2,500 priests have been trained due to the efforts of the VHP. There are a large number of Dalit priests in Andhra Pradesh also. The VHP has achieved a huge success in training of 5,000 Dalit priests,” he said. Two wings of the VHP are involved in the mission, ensuring training in the conduct of different religious rituals to the Dalits interested in religious matters. They are even provided certificates at the end of their training. He further said that priests are given certificates by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) once they acquire proficiency in handling different religious ceremonies and rituals. Vinod Bansal further said that five years after it was set up in 1964, the VHP started working to ending caste discrimination and eliminating the scourge of untouchability in society. He pointed out that the decision to help eradicate untouchability was taken at a VHP convention in Udupi in Karnataka in 1969, where the seers had sent out a message that “All Hindus are brothers and no one is fallen”. Sanskrit is not an old language - the languages that were actually old in North Indian subcontinent was Prakrit and Pali languages. There is a huge amount of confusion about Prakrit languages. Hence the claim to Sanskrits to be old is not proven because of this and even Rig Veda was first written down in 14th century AD and all claims are only verbal and they wrongly point to the written literature records of Prakrit or Pali languages as Sanskrit. Hindi is formed much later by choosing the largest spoken dialect of Prakrit in the present day Uttar Pradesh. So it very clear that anything written in Sanskrit is newly written literature after Sanskrit was formed. So the caste system and it’s ideology was written only in Sanskrit language texts lsuch as Manusmriti which describes and ranks four varnas, and prescribes their occupations, requirements and duties, or Dharma - has come into India by migrants that created Sanskrit and wanted to benefit from this facism. This system later was supported by foreign invaders and European colonists to divide and rule the region’s population. The so called dalits were originally the heirs of Harappan and Mohenjadharo cultures with Dravidian ancestry, pushed into oblivion of culture by Vedic Hinduism. The evidence only you can find in genetics and Tamil classical literature (Where the present dalits were the original inhabitants of tamil land and modern caste lines arose by mixing of caucasian blood in varying degrees with them) and latest archeological finds of Rakhigarhi in Haryana and Keezhadi near Madurai, TN. Dear, India, which is a union of states, each one having its own or a major language and culture is equivalent to the European Union, but in federal system like USA. There was no India before 1947, but many princely States governed by the British. There was no unified religion called Hindu, but many beliefs from natural religion, idol worship upto atheism. Do the British for the easy governance, called all others, than christians and muslims as Hindus. Later, Sikhs and Buddhists got seperate religious status through their agitation. In most of the states, people use their caste name as surname, especially those consider themselves as high caste. So, if you migrate to some other place, those without surname will be prompted by the so called high caste people to reveal your caste identity, by overtly or covertly, since they do not want to mingle or share food with, what they consider low castes. This is what happens in USA, Europe or where their is an Indian population. Actually it is a form of discrimination based on skin color, as those considered as low caste are usually deep brown, but a white American will hardly note the difference. In India, it is prevalent in Northern states and less towards south, literally nil discrimination in Kerala State due to its high literacy and Communism. There was a popular movement against the use of caste surname in the southern state of Tamil Nadu in the 1950'S, a partial success against caste system. Caste system was introduced by Brahmin caste in the 4 th century AD, evident from Sangha Tamil Classic. After which it was introduced along with Brahmins and Sanskrit language, which denied education to lower castes, other than the schools for Sanskrit, till the British administration. The undue influence of the Brahmins may have been due to their attractive light skin colour owing to their Caucasian background, against the mejority of brown people with negroid touch. There is even a book called"Manusmriti" in Sanskrit which guides how to punish lower castes, if they violate caste code. Apparently, Brahman(ism), Sanskrit and Hindi are considered as a symbol of oppression, by mojority of the so called, low caste people of India, especially, Tamil Nadu.

New Delhi, Aug 24: Breaking the caste barriers and taking a revolutionary step the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has trained over 5000 Dalit Priests (Purohits) across the country, 2500 amongst them are from Tamil Nadu alone. This is being done as part of VHP’s mission and practice of ending caste discrimination and untouchability prevalent in the society. This is considered as a great success on part of the VHP, said Vinod Bansal, National Spokesman of the organization. He said that due to VHP efforts many such priests are included in the panels of the government-managed temples. “We have achieved huge success in southern India. There is a large number of Dalit priests in southern states. In Tamil Nadu alone, 2,500 priests have been trained due to the efforts of the VHP. There are a large number of Dalit priests in Andhra Pradesh also. The VHP has achieved a huge success in training of 5,000 Dalit priests,” he said. Two wings of the VHP are involved in the mission, ensuring training in the conduct of different religious rituals to the Dalits interested in religious matters. They are even provided certificates at the end of their training. He further said that priests are given certificates by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) once they acquire proficiency in handling different religious ceremonies and rituals. Vinod Bansal further said that five years after it was set up in 1964, the VHP started working to ending caste discrimination and eliminating the scourge of untouchability in society. He pointed out that the decision to help eradicate untouchability was taken at a VHP convention in Udupi in Karnataka in 1969, where the seers had sent out a message that “All Hindus are brothers and no one is fallen”. Hi, I read most of your comments in this section and I agree with you too. One thing which we need to understand is that for some reason, one class of the society ( I seriously hate mentioning higher or lower caste ) started considering themselves as the " higher " caste and the dalits as the " lower" caste. Why? For the same reason tge white skinned people started considering themselves as superior than the black skinned people, which is without any logic. But, now we are aware and educated to understand thus problem. So, now we should start implementing this, by not mentioning any group of people as higher or lower, or as bramhins, dalits, shudras, marathas, etc. And the situation is changing now, like while travelling in a bis or train, we don't ask anyone which caste do they belong to or if my neighbors are of which caste, who is cooking for me in a restaurant. These arechanges which we need to aknowledge, as people in the earlier days did ask these questions. Even our PM is a person from a backward class ( I am saying this just to show how we are progressing ) who was elected by majority of votes, which included all the classes. So... we are definately progressing, by a slower rate, but we surely are.
