Thank you so much for this! The Chosen was the great gift that helped me return to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints after 40 years of inactivity. Miracle after miracle occurred for me after my first viewing of The Chosen. Thank you for highlighting it!!

Yes! This show strengthened my testimony of the gospel so much when the realization that our church is the only one who sees Jesus and God the father as two separate beings. And it’s so clear in the Chosen that they are.

Such a great talk from Dallas Jenkins. Thank you for resharing this with the world 💕

Fantastic! No doubt that the Lord has been speaking to Dallas and Amanda by the Holy Ghost on this experience. The Saints (LDS) are not the only ones that petition the Lord with such fervor, faith and expectation of an answer that results in receiving personal revelation. I believe he has and did. Look at the fruit of his labors. The Chosen. Whether or not he ever accepts the fullness of the gospel as we know and believe it is not relevant in THIS conversation. Coming together in Christ, no matter what your faith is, is a key principle of the gospel and LDS do not have the corner on personal revelation which affected Dallas in this project. Look at the miracle of the five loaves and two fishes and the world wide response to The Chosen. Enough said. Thanks Greg for sharing 😊

I believe the making of The Chosen is inspired and I’m sure that such productions are why the Church was prompted to construct the film set at Goshen, Utah.

I enjoyed your commentary on Dallas Jenkins' BYU Speech and agree we should never downplay anyone's relationship and experience with Christ. God is no respecter of persons, and we should be, too! If we lead with love, honesty, and virtue in all the moments of our lives, we will find our way back into Father's kingdom regardless of what religion we belong to!!!

God's purpose and glory is for man to become like Him. "Be ye therefore, perfect," He said. We cannot become like him without effort. "Keep my commandments." He accepts our offering of effort and perfects it through Grace. But without the exercise of effort through agency on our part, Grace has nothing to perfect.

Holy Cow Greg!! This is exactly the focus of our so powerful Gospel Doctrine lesson yesterday. I’m fact l have been sitting with Ether 2 & 3 opened, reviewing my notes and adding insights to them, and this podcast episode popped up as the next video on my feed. I love what you said about the ritual embrace at the veil- because l saw that too- all of chapter 3 is a temple experience for theBrother of Jared and Dallas’ comments were a testimony of faith and how our prayers /supplications when we are brought to the depths of humility are and can be answered by God - we may not see him in a vision, but we will experience signs and miracles- just as Dallas testified of- if we have sufficient faith. This has been a testimony and a little tender mercy to me from God on my new commitment to my prayers and trust in Him. Thank you for this !!

Nearly every interview I've seen Dallas Jenkins with regards to anything LDS he always makes it abundantly clear from the outset that he's not LDS. Seems he has to do that more for his side of the table than for ours. Seems like he has to walk a tight rope. Great guy.

I have the first 4 seasons on DVD so I can revisit it at anytime. I really appreciate it and how it's done. LDS members do not have the market on having experiences with God and Jesus Christ.

I appreciate you helping us to realize that Latter-Day Saints don’t have a monopoly on spirituality. When I was growing up, it was in an area where there were very few Latter-day Saints. I grew up knowing that they also loved the Lord and served Him in their own way.

Hey Greg, not sure if you watch Mr Beat (the guy that does videos and US history, specifically presidential history), but he just released a video on "mormonism" and it was portrayed in a pretty negative light, wondering if you would be interested in doing a review on that. Just curious.

Perhaps Dallas Jenkins, a movie based on a book called 'The Big Fisherman' by Lloyd C. Douglas would be fitting. If you want a moving tale about Peter working with the Savior this is the Story.

13:00 I don't think these events would happen, like the email pop up, the little signs from God, WITHOUT THEIR PRAYERS. I think God makes these signs happen when He knows ur ready to hear them.... It's just up to us to use our agency to ACT on these signs...and up to us to acknowledge and take advantage of these signs. God will send people and circumstances for us to hear His message.
@gemelindacjp7976Күн бұрын
How can we be ready and recognize communication from God if we are not making the effort from our side to communicate with Him? I must disagree with your assertion.
@ahh-2-ahhКүн бұрын
@@gemelindacjp7976...You have to pray and seek and act.... U can't just pray and sit there and do nothing. God wants us to ACT, when he calls on us or when he answers our prayers. He will send signs, peoples or circumstances when He knows ur ready ... But it's up to us to ACT on these signs given to us by God (when we pray w intent for help, guidance...etc)... We don't just pray... then do nothing when God gives us "nudges" to do something! Maybe I didn't articulate what I meant in my original comment ...

When people are scared, they're selfish ... the child gave all of his food but the multitude kept theirs hidden ... ? ... then slipped their donations into the baskets of bread and fishes ... in my own opinion. Pray for our needs, not our wants

Elisha told Naaman to wash in the Jordan river seven times in order to be cleansed from leprosy. Namaan did wash and was cleansed. Did Naaman earn his cleansing? No. Did the washing in the river cleanse him? No. His faithful act of participation (obedience) allowed Jehovah the Savior to cleanse him. The washing and cleansing in this case served as a motif of the "saving temple ordinances" and the day to day walk of obedience to God's commandments and repentance along the covenant path.

It's not about how well it is received, Christ himself is the perfect example here. Christ himself in the flesh was rejected, value and worth etc.. has nothing to do with how well something is received out in the world.
