Its frustrating, remember thinking this team was so deep. Now 2 studs out injuries stacking up, so much talent, but no one can step up. Can't even beat bad teams in the west, what is this 4 in a row? May be a good time to have that locker room discussion they had after that Jazz game? I doubt theyd have a chance at full strength against a lot of teams of the league in a series now. Hope Luka is well rested when he comes back.

Hi, Mavs fan from Taiwan. Hope that Kyrie and Luka get enough rest and totally recovery. Today’s game that Gafford seems got injured, hope he will be fine, we need landlord as big gate solid at our paint area. Here’s my opinion to share: 🏀Defense: 1. Reference Grizzlies defense, Edey and Huff did their job well to stay under the bucket. Please let our CENTER root at paint area and not be switched out to free throw line even far from the bucket. 2. Unlimited switches and zone defense is important, especially both Cavs and Grizzlies let their #4 play as #5, how many points both Mobley and Jackson score in paint area without CENTER was there with easy miss match? Mobley got 33PTS, Jackson got 35PTS. 3. Defense definitely need to communicate, last season we did a great job of double team to competitor’s star player, but today Jackson always has miss match chance and make shots easily in his comfort zone. He always in pocket area that should be double team to force him pass or make him difficult to make shots, but we didn’t. 🏀Offense 1. We try different P&R combinations in the beginning, but always back to old ways: ISO in the end, we always cannot create enough space or open opportunities without Luka & Kyrie. 2. Grizzlies without Morant, but they change Huff to play #4 to pull out Lively to create space, they use cut to switch the defender let Lively miss match to quicker player and let him out of the paint, Grizzlies player did a lot cut to create open, but we get used to stay at same position and wait for pass, it is good that dribbler could easily find the teammates, but also have disadvantage that dribbler be double team could cause turnover or easy to guess the pass lanes. 3. When Grizzlies play Edey and Huff as CENTER, they didn’t switch to outside, they stay in paint, and we still crowded in paint to attack rim. 4. Kleber definitely need to make shots, Huff as #4 makes 3PTS to pull out Lively, and let Jackson have more chance in paint, if you watch the game, you will see Kleber did the screen then popped out to 3PTS line with big open, but the defender do the double team to dribbler directly. If Kleber doesn’t make shots, he will lose the meaning for opening the space. 5. Grizzlies really good in using cut to create space, like triangle offense, always has player cut and have better shooting opportunities. 🏀 Mavs has many talented players who can play ISO, it also means that if we got better opportunities like miss match, we can score much easier, or if more players running cut, we can also create more space even open shot opportunities. Hope that we could improve our system both offense and defense side, and we can play more efficiently. Let’s go Mavs💪💪🙏🙏

Tomorrow with Lakers, if Gafford need to rest, share my opinion as below: 🏀Line up C:Lively/Powell PF:Kleber/PJ/Omax SF:PJ/Naji/Omax SG:Klay/Dinwiddie/Hardy PG:Grimes/Williams/Dinwidie 1. The line up follows by priority and position backup. 2. Why put Kleber to PF and let the PJ to SF? If we would like to play the POCKET DEFENSE, and Davis was hot in mid range even 3PTS, let Kleber guard Davis, because Davis usually on pinch post (1) P&R with James then cut in score near the paint area (2) fake screen then pop out to 3PTS line catch and shoot. We would like to see the situation (1) that Davis cut in and Lively still stay near the paint to double team with Kleber. PJ guard James can decide no switch and keep guarding James or switch let Kleber guard him, usually James will drive in, if in the paint area even have chance that PJ do the double team, Lively no need to jump for denying, sometimes can practice to cause their offense faults. 3. Lively guard Hachimura, no need to guard too close, close to paint is first priority. Klay guard Reaves, and Grimes guard Christie. The most important thing is let Lakers players into pocket area and CENTER need to stay at paint as final gate. 🏀Offense 1. Spain P&R #3&#4&#5-PJ kick off, Kleber 1st screen（pop out for 3PTS if defender not conme up with big open, just shoot 3PTS, don’t pass!) Lively 2nd screen(seal screen for PJ or off ball screen for Klay and even Kleber run the cut to delay the defender of Klay, change to Horns P&R similar like Elevator Entry play) 2. #1#5 P&R to let Davis out of paint. 3. Running the cut keep triangle offense, don’t only pass to “specific person “try like Grizzlies. 🏀 Don’t rely on ISO only, play smarter play efficiently, Let’s go Mavs. I believe that Mavs coach team can figure out how to get through the time without Luka & Kyrie. Let’s go Mavs💪💪🙏🙏

At this point I rest my case. No more complaining from me, seems it’s a waste of time. Everything we say never taken seriously. However, if the Mavs don’t make Jason Kidd listen or change coach. No matter how many stars we get we will never win anything. whats Kidd was suppose to do...he's tried every kind of rotation with what's left of the players. Spence D is doing the best he can, they all are. Somewhat disappointed in Klay though, he seems to be missing more then he's hitting I just dont know what the answer is....

I have noticed Klay is always the first one subbed after the game starts whether he's shooting good or not. But like alot of ppl I guess putting the blame on the coach is easier than blaming the performance of the players. Considering the hand he's been dealt with all the injuries, health issues and suspensions what else can Coach Kidd do? Being a former player I think he has better insight than most other coaches in the league, he obviously has done something right considering he took the mavs to the playoffs. But hey being the true mavs fan you claim to be you should know this, right?
