Finally figured out what's wrong with Mavs and it tends to show when lucakai are not around. It becomes a game of let me prove to coach so I get more minutes especially for Grimes, Hardy and Spencer which ends up to be a one on one every possession. Right now we need legit role players around Luca, kai and Klay that just wanna contribute without any personal ambitions on the side. I think Dallas should look to offload the extras and look to bring in more defensive players.

They in theory did exactly that when they brought in Washington and Gafford last year, and they were the top defense for the last stretch of the season. This year they lost Derrick Jones and replaced him with Klay (massive defensive downgrade) and also the players have stopped trying as hard for some reason, maybe fatigue or complacency from their finals run last year. In any case, their success will depend on whether the two stars play amazingly or not, just like last year's playoffs.

THJ was replaced by Klay who has been, yet again, a complete upgrade defense included, THJ was bad on defense and a vastly worse shooter than Klay. Green was replaced by Grimes who has, once again, been a complete upgrade across the board. Trying to make up ridiculous theories as to why the Mavs are losing is asinine when its as simple as: both of their leaders are out, multiple key roleplayers are also out all at the same time. If you dont count the Christmas game due to Luka getting injured in the middle of it, the Mavs are 6-0 with their full starting lineup, they dont need any massive trades or anything of the sort, they just need a healthy squad.

Dallas only need a backup 4 instead of Maxi Kleber. A serviceable one who can shoot and plays defense. Now the best scenario would be to bring Herb Jones or Cam Johnson as the 3 instead of Klay who would be good enough on the bench. But again this is an ideal world. Nico Harisson will probably find a 4 from a low tier team like he did with PJ, Grimes

Hardy is one of the worst defensive players and for me he is the only player without a midfielder in the NBA. Kleber is also a lousy player for Dallas that I would never have in the game, the same goes for Powell. When you have Hardy and Kleber or Dinwiddie on the floor, you will get points easily because then there is no defense.

Not true. Garland, Mitchell, and Mobley are great at scoring in the paint; Allen is a great finisher and rim runner, and LeVert is a good slasher. This team is pretty versatile, they’re top 8 in points scored in the paint and top 5 in 3s attempted. Meanwhile, the Celtics are 1st in 3s attempted and 30th in points scored in the paint.

I feel like the Cavs this year come the closest to it, and the Celtics after.
