Dallas Memorial Day Parade - Dallas TX - 1966

It's like a living time capsule, showing what Downtown Dallas looked like way back when. At that time, my father lived in an apartment complex near Fair Park and had started working at the now defunct Dallas Cap and Emblem Company. Many of the buildings shown the film are still standing today, though some of them now go by different names. For example: The Republic National Bank building, now known as Gables Republic Towers, a complex of luxury apartments.

+Jaci McCrary I moved to Dallas in 1967, worked 30 years for Lone Star Gas Co. at 301 S. Harwood. A friend worked as asst. manager for the Capri, got the Wurlitzer pipe organ working again and I'd go listen at intermissions while he played 20's tune.
