This was a respectable reboot of "Dallas". The look and storyline was just like the original. When Larry Hagman (JR) passed, it never recovered. I think if CBS would have done this reboot, it would have gone at least five years.

Can't. It's like if Steve McGarret dies on Hawaii Five-O, the show will not continue without main character. Placing John Ross and Bobby's son as main characters instead of J.R. Ewing was a major mistake.

I loved seeing Dallas come back to our screens Larry Hagman was Dallas. everyone liked JR even if they didn't admit to it. the show I hated as a child but loved as an adult. when the theme tune hits tears well up in my eyes

There wasn’t enough scenes to make the 3 way split effective for each character. That’s my guess as to why it wasn’t used right away

Brad Brooks I agree, never watched the original. But I think this reboot had potential. Now, maybe if CBS took charge of this it probably would have a better following or perhaps on Netflix.

Of all the Primetime soap reboots, this was the best. Though I also love Melrose Place’s reboot then again they actually both sequel series. MP didn’t get the chance it deserved.

Miss this. Even 9 years later. People stopped watching because Larry Hagman died but in a way it was a passing of the torch moment and this show had way to much potential to be canceled. These 3 seasons added so much more depth to the original run of the show in the 80s. The reboot will remain a what if

***** I don't think they did that out of conflict. I think it was symbolic in that John Ross & Christopher were always fighting to have the upper hand in the family; just like J.R. and Bobby in the original series.
