Real treasures! I can't imagine how the owner felt when he lost his drone! I'm only flying a Mini 2 and I already went crazy when I lost it for a while. Imagine him/her losing a drone that expensive!

Jake, From now on take a large tote with you for the times you might find a drone. Drones, especially DJI drones are built pretty tuff when it comes to water immersion. They can sometimes be brought back to life if they are cleaned out and dried properly. If you find one, keep it packed in the river water until you exhaust the possibility of finding the owner. DO NOT LET IT DRY OUT!! Take them straight out of the river water, and flush out with tap water to the best of your ability, then pack the whole thing in rice for about a week or so. You might get lucky.

I do that in my school which I call my own personal hobby of picking up "treasure" and collecting it for myself, it's pretty nice and cool. I find a ton of stuff on the floor. Also, if I could do stuff like you, I would've done it cause I LOVE collecting items which I see as " treasure.

Usually what destroys electronics under water is when there is battery power conducting through exposed circuits and the water is salty causing rapid corrosion. Connectors and PCB traces can often be restored if they got corroded. And especially if the water is salty, it's important to get the electronics cleaned with a lot of distilled water asap and then dry it completely before adding power to it again.

If there’s one reason to learn to scuba dive it’s for the free shit. But I am genuinely pleased to see him clearing up other peoples trash even though he shouldn’t have to. Whenever I go course fishing I collect whatever bits of line and rubbish I find. It harms the fish and other wildlife and as a fisherman it’s acting against your own interests to leave it in the water or in the bank, dead fish can’t be caught.
