I'm glad that this sister finally found peace and love. Life is never easy which is why we must learn as much as we can so that we can make better decisions. For this important reason, in the US, it is the law that children must go through grade school ((K-12). And they are not consider adults until age 18. Enough time and education will be needed to get to basic adult maturity. So many of our brothers and sister could have been saved from this simple care. It is so unfortunate when parents do not understand this very important concept and do not know how to better guide their children. On wrong choice can forever destroyed a life. Use love and care in everything that we do, and give sufficient thought to key concepts that are so critical personal health.

There is truly no future with an abuser and someone with an addiction. The sooner you leave the better off you'll be. Ladies, please preserve yourself so you can still be a mom to your children. Examples like this story, the husband will still be a loser even if you are gone. They are not worth your life and being a mother to your children. I encourage more ladies who got out of abusive relationships to tell their stories. This would be one way of helping others who are in the same situation to know that there's a life after leaving an abuser.

Men like your ex-husband should NEVER get married because they only care about themselves and having fun with their friends all the time. The family means NOTHING to them. This type of man should be AVOIDED at all costs if a woman wants a successful life! That being said, you experienced what you did----the beatings and the lack of support from your spouse----because you didn't listen to your elders who could see your ex-husband's faults clear as day! Also, one beating is too many beatings...you should have left him after the very first beating, but you didn't because you thought he would change and that was a huge mistake on your part----when you don't learn the first time, then you will suffer again and again.
