Hi B. As a time served Engineer here in the UK some 37 years for my sins, I absolutely love watching and listening to the way you go about problem solving. You clearly have a good understanding for the use of hand tools and general bench work. Watching you carefully using the punch along the most damaged area of the rudder for example was just pure old school experience. You also have some great ideas when it comes to fitting your boats out. Keep the content coming!!

Thank you very much. Yes sir I grew up around boat my whole life my father was a boat mechanic, my grand father was a full size wooden shrimp boat builder, in his old age he built some of the finest scale shrimp boat you'd ever seen (3-4feet long) with wooden coffee stirring sticks. I worked on charter boat most of my adult life until me & my wife had kids. When I wasn't on the ocean fishing I worked boat yards through the winter, basically what I'm trying to say is I've been surrounded by boats my whole life. For some odd reason I love these fast little rc boats I guess it shows lol. Thanks for watching ironclad rc glad you enjoy the content.

Good Vid B! I fill in blems on my aluminum stuff with solder and file it down. Quick, easy and polishes out to a pretty good match.

Big B don’t worry one iota about repeating yourself. You’re engineering skills are a real pleasure to watch man. I’m learning so much from your videos

Man this is perfect ! I did almost the exact same thing to my rudder yesterday on my impulse 32. Gonna give it the ole ironclad Big B makeover today

That's a really clean repair to that rudder blade Big B 👌 Great work 👏 Doubt you'll lose any performance... as you say, may just improve things by a few knots 😉 Also like your use of the heat shrink and silicone grease on the motor/ESC connectors. You might want to try 6mm or 7mm ID silicone tubing (depending on the size of the bullets) loaded with dielectric grease to do the same job - that's what I usually do and means you can still separate the connectors. Both will make those connections IRONCLAD watertight 👍

Epiphany time! That should be your new "IRONCLAD" logo. A cartoonish-looking alligator with a big prop embedded halfway in his head and this sort of "Dazed and Confused" look on his face......

Great video B!! I somehow hit another Turtle this past Sunday with my Zelos 36” Miss Geico, which took out some of my previous repair, and took a chunk in the corner of the 2nd ride pad!! Re-Fixing it now! Did get 77mph completely box stock other than lowering the struts a bit!! Was pretty choppy water, and letting off a bit, then flipped!! Great info as always bro!! 👍🏼

Finally I ripped my v2 today for the first time it was way more than I expected!! I went over every screw nut bolt you know iron clad it they were all out of proper torque... I greased the flex shaft checked it all. I did not make any adjustments to trim tabs or turn fins just torqued them proper. It's super fast amazing but I need help big time today was just to see what it did stock and there was a bunch of people watching 👀 and amazed mean time it was turning like shit like absolutely worse turning radius ever at high speeds it wasn't an issue but lower speeds it would not turn left nor right smh!! My servo was smoking very little but i tried full end point and less end point it literally would not turn unless I was at high speeds and it got sketchy one time I actually had to reverse it smh never use it on any of my boats.

Love the vid only suggestion is don’t put silicone on heat shrink, doing that prevents the glue on the shrink from adhering

This is also my opinion, you should dare to change something on the boat to find out if you can not improve something. This can also save you money, because the original parts are usually more expensive than those from the accessories.

What's you're take on this honestly this is weird lol something out of wack and I'm sure u know but one thing I'll say what a hell of a boat WOW it's a rocket...
@IRONCLADRC2 жыл бұрын
When a mono banks left in a turn the rudder lifts up out the water in the left bank the v2 has shorter rudder that the v1.. basically when the boat turns the rudder is lifting out the water and not "grabbing" to turn the boat. Check the grub screw at the hinge that holds the pin in the rudder it may have backed out causing the grub screw to rub on the rudder base (excessive strain on the servo?)
@t5king850r2 жыл бұрын
@@IRONCLADRC I tighten everything I just checked that grub screw nothing is loose the rudder was turning to far both left and right and started to smoke a little . It's a balance issue trim tabs turn fins and battery placement. Lol 1 turn fin was way up the other way down and both loose. I didn't go crazy first run wanted to see what it does out of box but I tighten everything 💯 and greased the flex shaft. It needs tuning my question is how do you get your v2 to turn at low speeds battery's forward or rear I'm going to set the trim tabs level with the hull like u do they are down out the box. but the turn turn fins we're all over. I'll tell you what what a beast I'm in love with it hell every one at the pond was my fiance was amazed it's a power house never flipped water was like glass can't wait to test and tinker this to handle better cause a boat like this makes big ponds seem small it's so fast seriously.
