On my patreon page, I began to explain the processes and secrets of my work. Topics already covered:
1. Why do I add pepper to container Damascus steel.
2. What do I sprinkle? Flux and its composition.
3. How do I remove the container from the workpiece (container Damascus steel).
4. Why am I drilling a hole in a container.
5. Why do I sweep away the dross from the anvil with my hand.
6. Why do I first forge some blanks on a tree.
7. In what and why do I soak the blank before forging.
8. In which granules do I place the workpiece after forging.
9. What kind of white powder do I pour into the container.
10. In what liquid do I develop the pattern on the blade.

Always good to see you are still safe! And what's more, You're showing off one of the many reasons I want to be a blacksmith. Even the left overs of old projects have a use, they're just waiting for it to be discovered.

Technically a Blacksmith works with Wrought Iron making ornamental things like handrails, iron gates and the like. A Bladesmith is what Dmitry does for a living or hobby.
@asimovstarling8806
@asimovstarling8806 Жыл бұрын
@@GeoffryWK Blacksmiths also make nails, armor, keys, and the tools of their trade among many other things. It isn't purely ornamental. Pro tip. Don't treat people as if they know nothing. You learn more when you ask questions rather than lecturing from a place of perceived superiority. Furthermore, blade smith is a new age distinction. Fundamentally there is no difference between a blade smith and a blacksmith. At the end of the day you are using fire and variety of heavy tools to repeating hit metal and force it into a new shape, but there is a lot of skill to be learned in the craft, and a blade smith is little more than a blacksmith who specializes in making blades.

@@GeoffryWK Historically a Blacksmith was the man you went to for any kind of metal work. From nails to hold your wagon, boat or house together, through to shoeing a Horse and making/repairing weapons and armour. He was a vital part of any community up until the industrial revolution and even today in much of the world his skills are still much in demand and need.

Shurap, I tried to find direct contact info and was not able to locate it. I ran across another youtube account that I am concerned might be a reupload of some of your work, account is "Forge Insider" and the video is " An Incredibly Sharp And Strong Knife That I Made \ ASMR ", a container damascus piece made from cable. I thought they might have been taking a page from you when they added spice to the container, then when they made tea and cut it off there, it seemed like they might have trimmed out the maker's mark portion of the video so as not to be caught. If it is not your work, by all means disregard, but I thought you should be aware of this potential issue.
