Hell no. If each part is gonna be 20+ min than 10 parts is almost too much, if they're only 10 min than maybe but I'd much rather have fewer longer episodes than lots of short ones.

Helps that so much of this build can be roughed out on a lathe. I think that's kinda why it's been fast. Also Will using the collet for the blade angles saved a lot of time. There's a lot less hand shaping on this one

For future reference -- superglue has very little shear strength, use a retaining compound instead (i.e. Loctite 609)

Super glue is great, but for this purpose locktite works so much better and is made for this kind of stuff. It really is very sound advice.

Even if it sounds like each episode is roughly 2 days, it's remarkable how quickly you guys are making progress on such a finely detailed piece that would have taken you months before. You're shaping up to be a high-end production shop! The question now is if the increased productivity is worth the cost of making sure 4 highly trained artisans get paid fairly. If that's the case, then it's time to start hiring!

I ran into the same problem with something unscrewing so I reversed the direction of the Chuck and turned the cutting tool upside down and cut perfectly. Y'all do great work and I'm impressed with the improvement of the machinist skills.

@@adelbert7162 Most of the people I have seen make one do the lazy way and laser cut it out of plate steel, the best I have seen to date was man at arms but even they had issues with the size of it and they had to forge weld 3 bits together and modify the heat treating forge, I guess Alec could build a large Wood/Coal blower forge as he has in the past.

Fantastic video as always. A tip for you guys when you use a file in the lathe, hold it in your left hand and stand on the right hand side, if the file digg in or skate you will not hit your self with it. This was something that was beaten in at the machinist school whent to.

Alex instead of saying “on the money” when something is 100% accurate in machining. The right term as I know is “dead nuts on” .

anyone else think he should take all of his scrap pieces of damascus and weld them all together and use them to make a knife? it would be interesting to see the pattern that it creates. oh and hey Alec love the work you do keep it up.
