@@dameednaeveragetheofficial6731 Dame Edna is a complex character that requires attention and she makes you want to listen and id hate people interrupting her genius level. With Dame Edna even as a guest on a show she takes control with ease and by having her as a guest you agree to be at her mercy and that quick wit and razor sharp toung! Shes been on Parky loads of times and hes just mesmerized by this glamorous creature who can tear you apart in a second. Barry is on equal footing with Sir Billy Connolly and Joan Rivers and the 3 of them are probably the best the world has had to offer. We've lost Joan and Sir Billy and Barry are getting older but still ive yet to see someone faster than Barry and even when you think you've got him he'll take you down again with a real sense of class and absolutely no profanity which strangely for someone like me who swears constantly I really enjoy that Dame Edna can do it just brutally without any "bad language"

I love Dame Edna !! Period! I will say I hope that dear Celia was OK after this, and that she took it for whatever it was, because normally Dame Edna always have fun and prepared actors involved, such as the great Emily Perry and the woman playing her obscure daughter etc. etc.... Celia seems like such a lovely woman, who got caught in all of this. It didn't seem arranged beforehand, sooo it's a little hard to look at. But I hope she was just a good sport.

Barry Humphries is a great Australian icon - comedian, author, raconteur, satirist - who has been inflicting his barbed wire wit on hapless, complicit audiences for more than sixty years. Dame Edna is one of his many hilarious creations. Check out Sir Les Patterson for his take on politicians. His live shows were joyous experiences.

Suggest that's a projection on your part...you would have to know if the woman felt that to make that statement
@martinricharte71143 жыл бұрын
@@ryoung1519 It is called empathy, You can see clearly that the situation becomes uncomfortable. G and E are both being mean with their comments; they are using her as a conduit to be mean, they are NOT funny despite the major effort to deliver jokes!!! Even a blind person can realize this fact!!!
@ryoung15193 жыл бұрын
@@martinricharte7114 suggest you take a lesson on this sort of Tv show....its pretty well scripted...if you know this woman featured then please ask if she was offended. its a tv show ....Barry Humpries feeds Norton the enquiries he is to make so he can come up with the jokes ....its not empathy ...its you projecting your own sensitivity ...do you sit and watch a movie feeling sensitive to the characters in the movie? I am simply suggesting to you that you have absolutely no idea about the womans experience. ..she certainly didnt look offended and could have walked off anytime ....look up many of barry humphries segments and it might help you to understand the act. All the best . ...by the way 60 years has nothing to do with it.

@@ryoung1519 It is well scripted. at a certain point, you do not have the crystal ball to predict human behavior or reaction to every joke. That is not a good argument!! Besides, G and E are not perfect human beings, they have flaws and it shows in this case!!!
@charliechaz19822 жыл бұрын
@@martinricharte7114 Do you not think that this would of been explained to her by show staff that she is just a pillar for jokes? She doesn't seem bothered at all, is a fan of Edna and is playing along. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a set up and she knew beforehand and was pre prepared.
