A February 11, 1951 concert performance of Dame Myra Hess playing Brahms Second Piano Concerto with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Bruno Walter. Hess recorded relatively little for piano and orchestra, and this performance captures her big-scale playing and full-bodied sonority to perfection.
