Ring culture started when LeBron showed up on the scene and threatened the old heads' myth of MJ.
@ad00m510 ай бұрын
“SOME DUDES PLAYED IN THE ERA W/ M.J. , and that’s why they didn’t win.”- Nothing more true. I grew up in Seattle, my first “favorite players”- naturally are Gary Payton and Shawn kemp. I remember them literally almost beating the bulls in the finals. But also that feeling that I had, deep down , KNOWING - that MJ was as going to win. I was introduced to basketball as a kid while MJ was playing. I remember how nonchalantly he retires after a 3 peat to do weird stuff like play baseball. Then come back- and do it again. He was LITERALLY BORED. So he did something else to come back and 3 peat AGAIN. So my point is - all I’ve ever known of MJ is that whatever he wanted to do in basketball- he would absolutely do. I never saw him fail at it that’s for sure. So just knowing the Sonics weren’t going to win, was a strange feeling when they had such a great year. 100% Sonics win that year if MJ didn’t play. Tell me otherwise. Same with damn near every team MJ played in the finals. Funny to hear from my current favorite PG- when the Sonics were no more, I drifted to Portland naturally. Always been a lillard fan. Moved to idaho years later, got into the bucks.(pretty easy to do when Portland wasn’t really a contender) Nothing crazier than waking up one day to find out this blazer lifer, just got traded to the bucks. I absolutely cannot wait to see what the bucks can do if not this year, then next. Because dame and Giannis both got that championship level heart, passion, humility and respect for the game, I want nothing more than to see dame get that ring. Whether he does it- or doesn’t. He’s still absolutely a top 75 pg of all time. The way he sees the game is just incredible to watch.
