When you're the only one spitting the truth your gonna be the only voice you hear in the room..... not his fault other's are to scared or ignorant to add to the conversation. It's the message not the messenger....remember that. Hate him all you like...... and I did for while too, until I listened to instead of heard him. Red ain't buying that stuff. If dame taught them how to make money then why isn't he the biggest money maker? If Jay left and made more money without you then that means he knew more than you did. If Jay valued Dame like that then he would have continued to make money WITH him. But Jay left him. Jay saw stuff that Dame didn't see. We aint never heard of a "TIMING" issue with Jay when it came to paying bills because his money was large enough where timing was never an issue. Any moves that Jay made after leaving Dame was not a reflection of what Dame taught Jay. Jay's work stands on its own. We never hear about any major moves Dame is making. All the videos he's in now is talking about other people and what they're not doing for the culture or what they should be doing. He's trying to make Redman feel like the guy that helped him make all his money somehow was doing him wrong and Redman can't see what the hell he's talking about. It's not that man's job to teach another grown man any thing that he isn't asking to learn. Redman said that's not his business so that tells you the space Redman put him in. He wasn't looking for him to teach him a damn thing, Just to keep him in positions where he could make money and Redman did what he wanted with him money.

@son-ofblack-king2187
@son-ofblack-king2187 6 жыл бұрын
millionsinlife ill give it a try, even though i think Damon was pretty clear. If you join a sports team, its more than just showing up to games & playing well. They're supposed to teach you how to succeed in every way possible. Each one teach one. In this case, there is no difference. If someone can invade your culture & make money off of you & give nothing in return, that's foul. I think redman was reflecting. Looking back & seeing how he was used. Remembering all the diners drinks & handshakes with snakes he's had over the years. How many times he punked a brother when he Should've been punkin the puny white guy lawyers that were robbing him for so long. They all know the same people, its just that dame knows the business better than most rappers. Redmad had to just sit back & let it soak in. As far as Jay z sucess vs damon dash, he was also very clear. The point he was making is, if you borrow from them, it's not yours, it's theirs. Thats why we hear about when Jay Z does something & why when Dame does something, we hear nothing. White people promote & exploit what they own. Not what you own. Jay z success had a lot to do with who he deals with in business. Dame won't deal with those people & he regularly says exactly why. He keeps telling people that these are the people that are robbing the culture. Forcing music to be wack to turn a buck. Controlling everything about it. Something they didn't create & can't relate to. Those People won't deal with him either because he's constantly pointing out that they're liars & crooks. I think the problem is that "we" as people & fans think that there's a problem beetween jay & dame. You compared them in a way that was kinda catty & petty. I think dames was pretty simple & clear. Why should hip hop heads let punk ass lawyers run hip hop music? This guy was one of the 1 st ones to talk about owning your own masters & all that. For example, How many people have been kissing weinstiens ass all these decades? All of Hollywood. Meanwhile, Dame has been telling people all along that he's foul. Nobody wanted to listen because, rocking the boat shakes up your chance to dance with the wolves. Also, people assume that he got dumped by Jay Z & is broke & bitter. For some reason, that kind of shit drives the average fans opinion. That's projection. That's because people are stupid & dont know whats going on behind the curtain & I think its pretty clear that, they dont care either. Its easier to misread things the way you did. No disrespect to you. Im just saying, once you see how the sausage is made, you shouldn't want to eat that shit. Even tho, many people still do.

This is why they tried to push Dame out of the game. Redman hangs with the Wu & other 5%ers, so I don't wanna hear he didn't know what the Devil was up to. He was just turning a blind eye to the shit cause he was eating & getting rich. Pac said a long time ago to watch out for these kinds of artists. they're here to cause confusion. Now, I truly see what he was saying. Red wasn't speaking because he didn't want himself on record, acknowledging & cosigning what Dame was saying, so he could continue to eat. Everyday, I'm losing respect for some of these legends we've supported & looked up to for so long, smh. Keep doing your thing Dame.

Redman is a G, always stayed true to real Hip-Hop and if you've ever seen his MTV cribs you know he's not about stuntin, flossing, or showing off his money. But now he wants to step his game up it is a difficult transition I can imagine and Dame has been tested by his split from Jay-Z but he's still a successful independent businessman who owns multiple companies and is his own boss. It's not just about the money, it's about the freedom.

He appears to be making sense but you can't say for certain he's telling the truth. Who's to know? Were you there when all he talks about occurred? That's a mistake a lot of people make and how they fall into traps- just cause someone sounds convincing or what they say resonates with you doesn't mean they are telling you the truth. They may just be telling you what they think you want to hear. There are stories of Dame robbing artistes (Beanie Sigel still maintains Dame owes him millions), not saying the stories are true - I wasn't there either - but you need to hear another side before you conclude.

Yo, Dame got businesses right? In order for a business to work is for that business to be financed. In corporate america, banks own houses, doctors own clinics, IRS owns what you don't pay, etc. In the Independent world YOU have to put all of your money in that business, meaning that A. you can have a side job. B. You can have a significant other pay the bills while you finance the business. Im pretty sure there's more to it but I learned this much just listening to DAME. Its about having money to invest while investment makes money, meaning you will have to advertise yourself, do the things BIG companies do on a smaller scale yet making money that keeps going up based on how much you're willing to invest. In other words be creative, take a leap of faith...or work that 9 to 5. WE all can do it and be millionaires but everybody doesnt understand that.

Dame Dash, Jim Jones, Cam'ron, Freeway, Beenie Siegel and Memphis Bleek and Jay-Z and all the others who use to be down but ain't on speaking terms no more. These guys made hits back in the day. State Property and Paid In Full, classic movies. These guys will always be legends in my eyes. So much talent I hope they will all be friends again.

+fish and banana Dame says a lot of things that are very truthful, but that is his game. He drops so much knowledge that people start to trust him because he's giving you so much truth, so he must be legit. Nah. Dame is a shark. He was speaking the truth in this video, for real. But, Dame would be no different if in Lyor's position.

I can't front. It was kinda wack to put Red in front of the camera and ask him how much (Lyor or Kevin or Julie) did for him or whatever when those were, if not friends, people who he did or still does business with. Idk If Red knew that was coming. It certainly didn't look like he did, Hence answers like "he didn't have to", "I wasn't in his business like that", and "I didn't think it was his job. It looked like Red just wanted to smoke something and catch up with an old friend.

Dame is laying out the history of Black music in America from Congo Square, Blues, Jazz, Rock, R&B, and Hip Hop, even the black GLTG community has been robbed and exploited. He's really laying it out, just using hip hop as the example. Record labels are not in the business of helping the artist/ culture recoup because unfortunately, most aren't owed by people who care about putting back into it and its people. Good to see Red looking healthy. Thanks for this vid. I learn so much from HHM.

I don't understand Dame in this video. He says that Lyor Cohen should've sat down with artists and teach them about saving money, inquire on the culture, and be more invested in their success. But at the same time, Dame is saying that "men aren't supposed to help other men" and that they should provide for themselves. Make up your mind, Dame. How does one learn how to be independent? Someone has to teach them the ropes; they just don't learn on their own.

This is why Dame Dash is my role model. I see people in the comments bickering about Redman's silence through the majority of the video and the reason should be evident; It's called respect. I never had the privilege to hear Dash speak. It's true what he said. About people making money off others and then investing into there community. But not investing into the community of the Rapper. Many great points he made. I feel Redman was caught off guard and Dash just spit something real. And Red dots just got connected. I think anyone is to old to learn. No matter how much money a person is worth or makes. Knowledge is Power. As I get older I understand this more and more. No matter who's spitting the truth. Respect.
