I'll explain! You must start with the vampire diaries coz that show is the base of The originals. The originals actually continues from after the end of S3 of the vampire diaries. All the originals r introduced in the first 3 seasons of TVD so watching the originals only makes sense if you've watched TVD from the beginning.

You should start with the vampire diaries because it gives you the information that you need with like lore and the information with original family like (klaus, Elijah) that you see in tvd i personally think if you start with the spin off (the originals) you'll most Likely get confused and wont get the full picture.

Too bad you can't watch TVD first...many characters carry over. Damon & Klaus are 2 of the greatest characters EVER! I watch both of these series over and over again that's how good they are.... and I am at least 2 decades older than you 😀 I'm sure I'm not even close to the average age of the TVD/Originals audience. 😊

I'm just saying I personally find it completely psycho to watch originals before vampire diaries. I know other people who have done it, even other reactors, but like... Sigh.
