Oddly your Hawaii series made me quite sad. I always assumed Hawaii was full of all this native Hawaiian culture. However, to see the erasure if native language, religion, culture and indigenous peoples broke my heart. Probably the most authentic Hawai’i travel series I’ve seen on KZbin. Best travel tip if you’re planning to go there, go with someone who’s from Hawai’i! The locals are hesitant to broadcast the “best” places on the island, in fear of the nature being damaged by an influx of tourists (I grew up in Hilo and Kona and lived in Honolulu so I can attest to this)

when the tide isnt so high you can climb down by the water and the sand down there is greenish. There are small bits of green sea glass mixed in the sand that give it its color. It is kinda worth it to just chill down there.

Hi! So at 10:42 when you are complaining there isn't green sand, the place way below, where the water meets the sand, is where it's green. You have to hike down a steep hill in order to reach it. It's totally worth it though! I'm sorry that you didn't get to see it, especially after you hiked all that way (believe me, I've hiked it and it's rough). It's a really small beach but the sand is almost a jade color. I hope you can go there again sometime because it's such a great experience to have.

Fun time in Kauai earlier this year - I'm deathly allergic to tree nuts. Went to Waimea town celebration & got some Kauai coffee (just ordered iced coffee). My dum dum ass didn't think to make sure the iced coffee was nut free...went into anaphylactic shock because there was some variation of macadamia nut milk/creamer in it. Had to go to the ER, could have died, but it's a great story and made the other moments of my trip even more beautiful & enjoyable. Thanks for inspiring me to shut up and go even though ya girl kinda scared 😹

What I love the most about your channel is the fact that your videos have really changed the way I perceive tourists. I grew up in Senegal 🇸🇳(West Africa) and I remember always being weary of tourists that didn't stick to the "touristic" areas and really wanted to learn about our culture. Writing this now, I realize that it sounds awful ! I saw the efforts they made to wear traditional clothing and learn the language as a way to belittle us, as if our world was sort of a source of entertainment (a zoo ?)for them 😂. But after watching your Hawai'i series it has really changed my perspective and I respect your efforts to look for the Native hawaiians' culture not from a position of superiority (as I used to interpret it) but just from the mere desire to learn more about the world.❤
