This one and Next Time are my favorite songs by Dan. Captured Angel is the best album to me by anybody, if i had to pick just one. Every song so well written and heartfelt. Trying to get over the breakup of his girlfriend, he put it into the music

So many of Dan's songs have intertwined with his fan's lives. A soundtrack of moments, memories, places and times. Special thanks, Donna, for posting this one. And if somehow, somewhere, the one who sang this to me the night I walked away all those years ago sees this, I do still think of you....

It makes me sick that Fogelburg is not here to make more music in these times. What a talent he was.

Dan's voice never fails to touch me. I alternate between a joyous feeling at hearing him, and grief that he's no longer here. Regardless, I thank you for each posting and continue to savor each new one as though it's the first time I've heard him sing.

Donna,Thanks for your generous sharing of this wonderful recording. Dan Fogelberg, you have left footprints on many hearts and souls. Dan,thank you for the wonderful years that you gave us. It's nice to know that someone has bought the ranch and hopefully will love it as Dan did. It's still bittersweet to think about it.

I first gained a passion for Dan Fogelberg about 1978 with the release of Netherlands. Later on I would become familiar with his earlier material as well, and watched him gain his commercial success. "The Last Nail", however, one of his early works, became my favorite. I felt that I got to know him a bit through his music. Later on, I would suspect that he was struggling with his personal relationship with his wife....and was not surprised when he later got divorced. Sorely missed.

thanks for sending this to me. i have a couple of older fogelberg albums (netherlands, souvenirs), but it seems like i still haven't really fathomes the depths of his music. on the beatles cover that is out here somewhere "I Need You", i learned about his "high strung nashville guitar". I MUST try this!!! I can hardly wait till I get a chance to high-string my guitar and see what kind of sound I get from it. thanks again!

Wow, wow, and wow again. Thanks, and thanks also for the news about the ranch. I had been wondering if that magnificent property had finally sold. (Have you seen pics? It's a-MA-zing!) Hearing that the buyer will respect what Dan did with the land gives me one of the few smiles I've smiled since 16 Dec.

@DreemOnMe Dan did come to understand how very much he meant to his fans when he was battling cancer, thankfully! Wherever his enlightened humble soul is now, I think he has a pretty good idea of what an impact he made upon the world and his devoted fans. At least I pray that he does and that angels enjoy his music now.

FYI in the above description, you got it backward, "Fogel" means bird, and "berg" means mountain. Hope that helps. It's German.
