According to John Mulaney, the threshold for blacking out tends to get lower and lower the more you do it; he has an early bit about how, toward the end of his drinking career, he'd black out after just a couple of bottles. This sort of thing checks out in my own experience of hard core alcoholics as well. It wouldn't surprise me if Dan Harmon blacks out after just a few beers now, which would just be enough for you and I to get buzzed on.

He's a great artist, but he's so consumed by his own ego and his GARBAGE decisions despite other cast members giving better suggestions. He's a piece of shit, regardless of how great some of the episodes he writes are. It doesn't take away anything from his art, but it definitely makes me less interested in his work when he acts like a total SJW douche. Same with Chevy Chase. Chase deserves to have his career destroyed. If you're pussified and weak enough to be intimidated and apprehensive about PLAYING A FUCKING FICTIONAL CHARACTER IN A FICTIONAL FUCKING SERIES, you are a piece of garbage who does not deserve the fame and fortune of being in this business. Art does not in any way reflect on the creators' and crews' political or social beliefs... It's FUCKING. ART. It's made to be entertaining. If entertaining is being grossly offensive (I personally enjoy it), then so fucking what? It's like these """ *elite* """" executive actors think they're carving their way into history by being pacifists, when in reality, it's the complete opposite. Fuck Chevy Chase, I hope he never gets a role in anything ever again, he's a shit actor anyway; and fuck Dan Harmon who completely backpedals on everything he says like a total fucking pussy. Stand by your work, and stand by free speech. Just because you say the word "nigger" or give racial epithets in your show does not mean you're a racist, it just means your writing and bringing to life actual characters that people can relate, hate, and actively respond to. Fuck, Dan Harmon, and fuck Chevy; they're both greedy, socialist pigs. I have no issue with watching the great entertainment they create, but I DO have an issue with them backpedaling. SHUT. THE. Also, Dan wasn't fired just because of the Chevy incident. He was also fired because he kept turning in the script late, with the cast waiting for over 12 hours. The executives would be set up for shotgun approvals of his concepts, because he was an ambitious and capable creator, who was also disorganized. Plus, he often comes into the set drunk. At the time, he suffered from alcoholism and obsession. Dan wasn't taking care of himself, and it took a toll on production. And the show, which was already always in danger of being cancelled, suffered even more. You also have to put into context how the fight with Chevy started. Chevy once got mad at Dan for turning up without a script during production. Dan got mad at Chevy because Chevy would leave the set without finishing his scenes, since their hours got later and later in the week; this peaked on the episode Digital Estate Planning. This led to them calling each other out, thus the infamous "FU, Chevy" event happening. Both of them had their share of wrongs. The cast liked Dan; Community was his genius after all. He explains how he pushes people away, expecting them to turn on him. Then he comes back next season a much better man. Then suddenly season 4 goes back to making him just as racist and insensitive as before, pushing away the group even further. I understand his complaints and they were valid. By all accounts Dan Harmon was a comical/writing genius, but highly immature, alcoholic, and unreliable. Even admitting to sexual harassment later on. Obviously Harmon has improved dramatically, but Chevy had valid complaints about the production of the show. The only real thing I think Chevy did wrong was make an off-color joke to Donald Glover. @danielpenrodii23894 жыл бұрын
If Harmon and him never had their feud, Pierce would’ve been such an absolute amazing character from start to finish. What began as a goofy yet lovable potential father figure for Jeff quickly devolved into a broken record of racist or sexist one liners. I get Chevy’s frustration with not being utilized properly and pretty much being stuck in a role that wasn’t what he signed on for, so hopefully he can get a chance to give Pierce’s character some closure in the movie. Either in flashbacks, some other dimension in which Pierce is alive, or he just faked his death all together lol. I just want to see the hatchet buried and Pierce to be given one last emotional scene.

@erickmejia46024 жыл бұрын
@DrTheKay how is it a logical fallacy?
@DrLipkin3 жыл бұрын
@@erickmejia4602 The Streisand Effect isn't a logical fallacy. It's a social phenomena named for Barbara Streisand. When you attempt to suppress or hide information, it makes people more likely to seek out said information, even if they wouldn't have originally given a shit. Thus, your actions have the opposite of the desired effect. So named because Barbara Streisand's house was coincidentally photographed while records were being taken of coastal erosion. She tried to suppress the pictures so people wouldn't see her house, but that ended up drawing even more attention to her house than if she had done nothing. So Dan Harmon is doing the opposite. Instead of trying to cover up, he's metaphorically plastering pictures of his house all over the place so no one will give a shit.

@eclipsewrecker4 жыл бұрын
I like a lot of Harmon’s work but he’s clueless about a lot of what he thinks he understands: “wife and kids” meaning embarrassed in front of his circle. Silly.
@eclipsewrecker4 жыл бұрын
Tim Portantno “embarrassed in front of.” It might be silly, but that is what he was more likely to mean when his kids are “48.” It’s an intellectually dishonest position to claim that there is only one way to react, and one way to mean ambiguous phrases. I do not get embarrassed because my family saw me do something embarrassing, but I can be embarrassed in a situation while in front of them and others.
@eclipsewrecker4 жыл бұрын
Tim Portantno try a little self-awareness. A lot of projection coming from you. This is clearly not an honest discussion. I’m sorry for talking sheet about your hero. Peace.
@eclipsewrecker4 жыл бұрын
Tim Portantno I like Harmon more than chase. Deductive reasoning not repetition. By Harmon making an assumption about what Chevy meant then coming to the conclusion that it didn’t make sense is bad reasoning. I admit the ambiguity of the phrase used, you have stated that it can only mean one thing. One man has the reputation of being an asshole. The other has the reputation of putting his foot in his mouth. I never defended Chevy Chase. These situations are not “which side are you on.” I can criticize both men for the unreasonable things they say or do. This video wasn’t about chase. It was about Harmon’s dealings with Chase..as so my comment was. Oh...my bad I don’t know the rules for youtube. Should I point out that you used “your” when you should of used “you’re” or are we good?

As far as “proving my point” goes: you,,again, demonstrated a lack of self-awareness and a lack of reasoning skills. You can keep coming back with crap but at this point you’re coming across as a troll or low-intelligence, either way I’ll be nicer and humor your attempts. Good look.

Dan Harmon is a good writer. Community was (for the first 3, 4 seasons) amazing, Rick and Morty is allright but overrated. He says he's 'sorry' about the two incidents (the wrapparty 'fuck you', and the voicemail) but all in all he's making excuses and still taking the piss at Chevy. Look, obviously Chevy must be hard to work with, but really, there's no excuse for such a childish retaliation. I mean, come on, making all colleagues shouting 'fuck you Chevvy'? Makes me think about the roast in The Office. And then, when Chevy reacts, maybe in a stupid way, but certainly justafiable, make even more of a joke of him. That's just cruel. Especially since they all knew that was Chevy's shot at a second carreer.
@nkjmeh3 жыл бұрын
I think it’s pretty well documented that Chevy was a nightmare on set. He was a power player and apparently enjoyed making things difficult for the crew and other actors (throwing tantrums, refusing to work scheduled hours, and making demands). So I think while what Dan did was clearly unprofessional… I think it was somewhat brought on by Chevy himself. He didn’t say he forced them to say it just made it clear they could say it without being reprimanded. It was a lame gag for a boss to pull but it appears the crew agreed with the sentiment.
