I love how at 2:31 they edited in Dan saying "Particularly Good One" over his initial comment, with a sharp cut to Larry to avoid his mouth. His initial comment probably wasn't convincing enough for NBC. Not that seems to have been negative comment to begin with, it was probably neutral positive, so they beefed it up to sound more marketable. You'd think it would've been a better editing job as well... My evidence is the volume spike of the clip, the speed of the clip to fit the frame of his hidden words, and the beginning of the audio clip starting while Dan had not released the breath for his "Uhh" that he's resting on.

Paradoxically, I think the two elements of DH's responses that really expose the animus of his self-perception are: 1) when he talks about the centrality of sincerity to his craft (i.e. when he talks about sincerity in comedy, struggling to learn how to stop living life transparently/out in the open, getting in trouble for being outspoken, etc.), and 2) _caring_ so much what people think of him that he is emotionally unable to separate self-perception from what other people think of him. At the intersection of those two notions is a zone of _extreme_ vulnerability that, in these times, many people choose to avoid by abrogating either the one tendency or the other. Instead, DH has (in the past, at least) thrust himself into the heart of that psychic maelstrom. It's what makes his work so singular and entrancing - in a sense, the dark secret to which he owes his success - but it's also what causes him so much grief in the public sphere.

Idea for a Community movie: Bring back Abed's girlfriend, Rachel, played by Brie Larson. She's a legit movie star now, as are many cast members, and could add some box office draw to the project. I think all fans liked the Abed and Rachel story line. Abed is a (the?) central character in the show, and maybe something could happen to him -- like he disappears, and the gang must get together again to find him; or maybe something less dramatic than that -- and this trouble with Abed could become the impetus for re-introducing Rachel. The basic problem a Community movie would have, of course, is that they are all too old to be in school anymore, and so how do you reassemble the ensemble without the classic setting of the show? I think Rachel is the key to this dilemma, however she is re-introduced.

I read a really good fan script that had the cast coming back for Chang's gay wedding set in 2021 pandemic referenced. Jeff and Annie are platonic-co-parents of a one year old, Abed has a TV show based off of their lives called "The Study Group", Troy is worth millions, Britta owns a bar, and Shirley's business is on thin ice due to the pandemic and Andre is dead cause of it. It was really well written and captured the characters very well and carried their arcs through. I highly recommend reading it cause its probably the closest thing to a Dan Harmon written movie until the movie comes out.

@@vimgeer That's not the reason. He comes to the interview from his own life and his own perspective, expecting to learn about his guest's life and perspective. Why research?
