The studio series is such a great concept. Most musicians these days have no use for 50/100 watt amps anymore. Unless you're playing huge stages, it's just impossible to get those amps into the sweet spot at a reasonable volume. Kudos to Marshall for understanding this and giving working musicians the tools they need. And for me, the JTM45 is the studio amp to have... Also, the Darkness kicks ass!!

I hear that a lot at the moment but low Watters are Useless for clean
@zenmaestro04 Жыл бұрын
I hear that but I’m speaking from lots of gigging experience. I can barely get my ‘67 deluxe reverb on 3 before I have a sound guy (and my singer lol) telling me to turn down. If you’re not mic’d up, absolutely that clean headroom is essential. But for most situations I’ve been in, 20 watts is sufficient 😎👌

You could play with a champ if it’s mic’d! 😎🤙

@@zenmaestro04I toured for 10 yrs. As a musician and as a guitar/bass tech for major label bands. Use amps with a Master volume, or a Cab IR/Load Box like a Captor-X. When I was still touring in 2009 there weren’t amp heads or combos with built in attentuators like now. The technology is available now so you can have the headroom/low end of a 100-watt, but scale it down for small venues and be able to have your tone in that “sweet spot.” I’ve bought and sold a few 50 watters, cause I still prefer the headroom of 100 watts. Another good option is getting a real good distortion pedal like a REVV G2 or G3…cranking the volume on say a Fender tube combo, and using the volume knob on the REVV pedal as your main volume control…that’s how I run my living room rig. I get killer heavy tones at lower volumes.

Thanks Marshall👍 Albeit I do personally prefer the Plexi, the ST seems to be very sensitive, has a beautiful complexity and a more bluesy feel to it. I have had my ST20C for a week now and it fits my blues/rock style perfectly. My favorite amp in my collecion is a '96 Bluesbreaker reissue but, because of the loudness and weight, I don't get to use it much. This ST20C is like a mini Bluesbreaker. Very managable in weight and sound level. Not suprisingly, my Bluesbreaker 2 pedal works great with it. I can get extra grit and volume for soloing and it still sounds like the amp. Very little coloration. If I want to sound more plexi my OCD does the trick. I previously had a SV20H and it was great but, I have hoped, since they first put out the Studio series, that they would put out a JTM45 version. I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks Marshall!

So, the JTM45 is 30 watts. Marshall made it a 20 watt and called it Studio? That's a 10 watt difference!! It's like half a decibal quiter. What's the point?
@svarthelikoptern2 ай бұрын
- it's a smaller size - it completes the studio range and showcases Marshall's history - it is only 65% of the price of a jtm45 - it doesn't have a rectifier tube which may make it closer to a black flag jtm50 - it doesn't need to be biased - it has an effects loop - subjective: it has a different look
