I’m just a middle aged mom from America and I didn’t realize such a place existed where a person can study medieval history surrounded with beauty and passion. I’ve missed my calling 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I went immediately to my library and read the book online. The hardback is going in my collection. It helped me fill in the blanks up to Agincourt and afterwards.

I love when historians talk about historical dramas in movies and TV. The shade was amazing 😂

I didn't know that Henry V was that brutal as a disciplinarian...it would certainly make sense how he won at Angincourt. Only an extremely disciplined army could win that battle despite the overwhelming odds.

Regarding the question about Dan's measure of success, I think the fact that the question was asked at a forum for the release of a biography of a medieval king by an audience member who admits being less than familiar with medieval kings is a huge mark of success.

This was insightful and entertaining thank you. Fyi i don’t think anyone was really paying attentipn to Charlemagne’s adaptation of henry 5th- we were all lost in his eyes and curls 😅 a beautifully aesthetic fictional film.

Of course you make that statement assuming that his incredible intelligence and dedication to his craft are his most important qualities...right? Obviously! I mean, its obvious to me but some might take offence to objectifying such an admirable man in ALL senses of the word. Otherwise I'm sure there will be comments about how he shouldn't be judged on his looks, double standards and all that "if he was a woman blah blah blah" stuff. Whew, OK, I'm glad we cleared all that up, because gosh, yes he most definitely is!

Henry v didn't do anything special. It was the nobility aligned against the Yorks who brought him out of exile.

I truly wanted to like him as a younger voice on this period in history. But found him quite insufferable rather quickly

Edward III was a much better king than Henry V.

Had Henry V lived longer than we probably would be calling him the greatest King IMO
@TheJennick139 күн бұрын
Absolutely agree!!
@kickedinthecalfbyacow75496 күн бұрын
@@PatrickTower-ln7oiyou’re assuming that if Henry had lived longer he would have continued to be successful. Henry died at his peak, it’s unlikely that he would have been able to continue his success. France would likely still have had a resurgence and driven the English out of France.
