I was 12 years old laying on my bed listening to Dan Kelly on KMOX 1120 call the Blues games back in 1967. He was so good I could visualize the games in my mind. He was, and still is the best.

Man, that incredible, unmatchable voice takes me back to my childhood in STL. Such fond memories of seeing the Blues at the old Checkerdome.

Thinking of Dan Kelly tonight as the Blues win their first Stanley Cup!

You're not the only one. He was the best. Used to go to bed as a kid with the Blues, Dan Kelley and KMOX on the transistor radio under the covers.

If Dan Kelly were still alive and calling hockey in 2019, he likely wouldn't have been doing the local St.Louis radio broadcast of the Blues' first Stanley Cup win. He probably would've been calling the game on NBC television.

Remember listening to his calls back in the 80's when the USA Network used to carry games. Dan Kelly was one of the best!

Older than I want to admit life long Ranger Fan. I always had a soft spot for the Blues. Best logo ever and they had Dan Kelley. I would listen to him late at night. He was the best and I hope he knows they won it all in 2019. Great job blues.

As a kid in the '70's watching the New York Islanders go from being horrible to winning Stanley Cups, the memory of Dan Kelly calling those Stanley Cup games is as vivid as anything the Islanders achieved on the ice. Kelly's announcing was second to none.

Im jealous of all you people who got to listen and see and hear every night, every game, evey anything of Dan Kelly. i grew up with Ken Wilson and dont gwt me wrong, ken is part of my soundtrack of sports growing up. Ken is great, but not dan kelly

Aaron, you hit the nail on the head. I’m now 70 and have been a Blues fan since 1968. Ken Wilson was very very good, but Dan Kelly was the absolute best. As a teenager when the Blues were outmatched by Montreal and Boston, I would literally start to clench in fear as Kelly’s voice raised and he say things like, “Lafleur CLOSING INNNN…,” because you knew right after that it would be the bad news, “He scores!” Dan Kelly had the perfect voice, the perfect pitch & cadence, and the perfect amount of volume which foreshadowed a dangerous shot on goal, whether it was for us or the opposition! He made the games come absolutely alive on my transistor radio!
