Don’t forget the culture Oregon has. Thats rare. The consistency up and down the coaching staff. The proven development filtering into the pros. Players aren’t leaving. Even ones who would start elsewhere These all add up.

I love how everyone forgets that Oregon is the dream school for some of these kids. And the fact that Oregon was a top 2 offense last year doesn’t hurt either. It’s not always just about the money. Go Ducks!🦆

Fans of rival schools seem to think it’s 100% NIL and none of anything else. Like you said, there kids were growing up with the peak of Oregon (so far), they fell in love with the school.

Dream school. Ya, if you dream of money. Why would you go to Oregon to play football with no proof of concept. It's money. And I don't blame you or these kids. Get your money.... just be honest about what Oregon offers.

@abh3136 Well, Ohio State has been in the top 3 in spending ever since NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) started. Here are the 2023-24 rankings, excluding private schools and I am assuming FSU is slotted by Oregon and Auburn where the blank spot was located. First off, my previous numbers were a bit off on Texas; this data was reported to the NCAA and states, not from ON3. Also, Tennessee's amount was from 22-23 because it hadn't been reported or recorded yet, but now it has been reported and is closer to Texas' number, potentially being first with $24 million. So much for Florida needing to step up, looks like maybe step up recruiting efforts. **NIL Spending Rankings 2023-2024:** 1. Texas: $22,272,474 2. Ohio State: $20,253,400 3. LSU: $20,137,141 4. UGA: $18,326,566 5. Texas A&M: $17,228,714 6. Michigan: $16,357,054 7. Alabama: $15,995,406 8. Florida: $15,802,237 9. Clemson: $15,258,374 10. Oklahoma: $14,517,595 11. Penn State: $13,793,489 12. Indiana: $13,631,161 13. Michigan State: $13,035,471 14. Virginia: $12,780,300 15. Tennessee: $11,602,164 16. Auburn: $11,588,953 17. Assuming FSU: ???????? 18. Arkansas: $11,544,039 19. Kentucky: $11,254,054 20. Oregon: $10,623,802 21. Iowa: $9,698,730 22. South Carolina: $9,544,700 23. Louisville: $9,443,437 24. Washington: $9,406,734

The difference between Oregon and other wealthy schools is Phil Knight has a world class business which is all about sports. It is to Nike’s benefit that Oregon succeeds wildly. Now that NIL is a thing, no recruit can ignore Oregon and Nike and what they can offer. Plus Oregon is a beautiful place to play, not all hot and sweaty like some others, or bitterly cold like still others. Eugene is very temperate, and we love our athletes as long as they are not criminals and thugs. There is no reason to be either of those things here. Let’s pay these kids enough to live well and fly their parents here frequently to see them shine in their sport.

Funny thing is you can see what Oregon spent on nil the last 2 years in ON3, for Example texas was top 5 both yrss and oregon is 12th in spend on average. Texas average deal last year was $272,000 and Oregon was $70,000 per deal, so 12th is nkt exactly setting the bar

I was listening to an interview with Pickett and he was breaking down what each school had to offer (back when he was open to more than just the top 3) and he mentioned that the distance to Eugene didn’t bother him at all and a major factor in decision making is being able to play both on offense and defense. I think if Oregon allowed that, we’d be a lock for sure. Blows my mind LSU is getting predicted in a lot of places over Oregon and even Miami lol.
@HightopSportsoregon3 ай бұрын
The distance is usually one of the primary factors working against the Ducks, it helps significantly that he doesn’t mind the location. This is another recruitment where it won’t be over until December..

Here's the thing, we aren't just coming in and outbidding everyone. The difference is the long term benefits and marketing plans that they offer. We have the most ORGANIZED NIL collective and are offering people things long term in the form of revenue that others aren't, which is the major factor. In terms of how much we're paying the numbers actually aren't coming in that ridiculous.
