I'm not sure why God allowed me to get trapped in religion and religious cults (like the Independent Baptist Church). However after 40 years of church-ianity, the Holy Spirit lead me to Dan's Ministry and I understand now!!! SO MUCH of 'church' is still Old Testament: Trying to be 'good', avoiding sin. But it's like holding a steak in front of a dog and mandating that he not want it!!! Fallen Nature wants everything for self and even religion is based on and driven by self. (It's satan's greatest temptation: That a man could be as Righteous as God by DO-ing rather than SURRENDER-ing). "God is not here to make your life work; He's here to make your life like Him!!" I heard him say that if there is abuse in a family then he recommends separation. I wonder how he suggests ministers should counsel couples who are being verbally, mentally or emotionally abused? I'm sincerely wondering, not being argumentative or what not.

God is a proivder and we must have faith. I have been in a situation where I didn't know what to do, and this is before giving my life to Christ, and I prayed and cried out in tears that my son would be taken care of amd He came through. Faith and an honest heart go a long way. I'm not saying this in condemnation at all so I do apologize if my typed words come across the wrong way.
