I'd still give the edge to the US because of the concentration of talent within. If Europe was one nation with one team, that'd be one helluva powerhouse, but that's not how it is. But for sure I do see the gap closing more as time goes on. Edit: Thinking about it more, it will be interesting to see how things look when Lebron, KD, and Curry are retired. Not many years left for them. Durant is the youngest of the three at 35.
@DJKevvyKevCoolBreeze
@DJKevvyKevCoolBreeze Ай бұрын
I think what needs to happen is we need to establish an official National USA Team, that practices or at the very least meets periodically year-round. That would eliminate a LOT of the rotation/acclimatization/connective issues that we have Every Olympics. Because the talent gap is STILL ridiculous, and there's really no sign that *that* is going to change any time soon.

Steve Kerr for sure. That 3rd quarter substitution when they got it back to about 6 but after the sub it went back up 15 or 17. I'm willing to bet if the game is close against France he will leave some of the players on the floor that has it going instead of substituting everyone at once.

As a Warriors fan. Steve Kerr is fcking horrible. Has only won because he's around superior Dynasty level talent his entire career as a player and as a coach. The players literally stopped looking at him the entire 2nd half and just played backyard ball to get the W.
@emelyvidanes7303

Kerr (9 rings) has assistant coaches Ty Lue(3 rings) and Erik Spoelstra (2 rings) have NBA championship rings for coaching who also have input into decisions, including player matchups rotations and team over all strategies on specific game If there was a decision not to play Tatum against Serbia, it would likely have been a collaborative decision made by the entire coaching staff. But none of the other coaches suggest to put Tatum on the court not only once but twice even they are loosing, WHY? Because the coaches see what you don’t see in the court specially during practice. Don’t worry Tatum will definitely get his silver/ gold medal regardless they win or lose and so far they are undefeated

What’s more critical in crunch time, having a lot of stats? Or having that killer instinct and imposing your will on the other team? Stats are important and helps get u to a certain point in a game, but n the clutch it is about will! Steph showed why he is a champion. He is an assassin in the clutch!!

This was good but bad analysis. Serbia didn't not show their hands, they just adjusted after playing the us twice. The reason the first pill play got out of hand was because kd came out playing as if he was a basketball god. He didn't have that game. Kerr, also shortened his rotation. You learn things when you play a team multiple times. Once the us speed going under screens and focused on not letting jokic have too much of an advantage on a switch is when the us came back. Even when he has white is holiday in the post, there was a big playing safety close. When he had kd and lebron on a switch, lebron could body him and kd made sure to use his long arms.

Serbia should have won the game. Up 2 with about 3 minutes to go and some left handed Serb takes a wide open 3 with 20 seconds on the shot clock and misses. He either should have drove to the hoop or ran some clock. You've got to know the situation. Then down 1 Micic takes a 3 with 13 seconds on the shot clock and misses. Again, should have run the clock and gone to Jokic in the post. Also, add a really poor over-and-back call that goes against Serbia even though KD touches the ball. Still....a country of 8 million vs the US with 300+ million....not a bad showing. I hope they're not so disappointed that they lose to Germany.
@erickollman4441
@erickollman4441 Ай бұрын
That over-and-back call was inconclusive and, in any event, showed how hard of defense the US was playing at that point in the game. They smothered Serbia the entire last 7 minutes of the game and no one can take that away from them.

I repeated after this game what I've been saying in the entire men's and women's basketball tournaments. "You have to play 4 quarters to beat the USA." 🏀🥇 I've seen both USA teams give up a quarter, but every country has yet to beat them in 4. USA teams actually win playing 3 good quarters, Serbia could not.

Oak LeBron Curry and KD are unicorns, but what is Jokic then. We cannot compare those 2 teams individualy, it was all about jokic. If this dream team are avengers then jokic is definetly a thanos. But if serbia hit just 1 maybe 2 of their 10 attempts in the last quarter thanos would have won. I cant imagine what an earthquake it would have coused, nba, media, fan outrage, almost as if meteor hit american soil. And LeBronZE James lol that would be hilarious 😂
