Dude I use that technique on my right too just recently discovered it's called the "moeller technique" very difficult to keep consistent at those speeds though, at least for me

man that kit soudns so gorgeous, the playing on ANY of the videos is ace, and I'm still sitting here wondering what a clusterfuck of job it must have been to record, mix and master the sound of the drums and align it actually with the video... As I'm getting into recording myself on the drums and especially triggering, I can assure you that it is not cheating and getting a good sound is a crapload of work... a good sounding, perfectly tuned kit even in a room with the best acoustics possible can still sound like shit recorded... if anyone has tips or can direct me to websites / persons, that would be much appreciated !

I may get blitzed here with hate messages but im gonna say it. Better than George Kollias! Dont get me wrong, George Kollias is an amazing drummer. I hope to half as good as him one day. But man! your playing and creativity blow me away. Truly inspirational

Yup, in my opinion George is pretty much all about fast blasts. There's really not much variation in his fills. Indeed he's a good drummer, but I'd rank Dan and Portnoy before Kollias.

Dan Presland true that, I've seen some instructional videos from him and the dude can do pretty much anything (including jazz drumming!), however I have to agree that his playing in death metal is a bit too much straightforward and I'd like to see him composing something more groovy as you do

Better? Absolutely not. Kollias is in a league of his own and that league is desolate. There are only a handful of drummers capable of filling his shoes in Nile. Dan is absolutely brilliant though in his own way. Extremely pointless to compare these two.
