Puzzle Fighter broke my heart a bit, it's the only game where my colour-blindness actually became an issue. i thought i was stacking well, but couldn't see the diff between yellow and green spheres without squinting at them for a few seconds which doesn't let you think quickly. Any remaster of this (yes please) needs a Colour Blind mode. Also JJ is awesome, not long now til Ripley Dood Day!

Capcom Vancouver made a Mobile Puzzle Fighter that was legit really good... Okay it was just as broken as this one honestly, but it did have a color blind mode, but it sunset over a year ago... If you have a Switch, I would recommend Crystal Crisis!

fun fact: while Dan only drops red blocks, he also actually drops 1.5x the amount! That means if you're fast enough he can easily overwhelm the opponent faster than most of the others.

Until the opponent gets the single red bomb they need to decimate your whole world. Dan vs. Akuma at the end of the hard mode arcade is such an uphill battle and I love how Dan functions in this game.

All an opponent has to do is leave a red Crash Gem buried deep, and Dan WILL kill himself every time.

This game was my absolute favorite!!!! The pro strats are just slamming everything vertically on the left while counting to 25 which is when you get the diamond and in the OG PS1 it was glitched so the damage multiplier would max out if you dropped it on an empty space at the bottom and the next gem destroyed would usually take out your opponent.

Awesome! Thanks for including this game into the legacy. Dan is the most difficult character to use in this game, because he only drops red. So, the better Dan does, the most he sets himself up for failure when his opponent gets a round gem.

I love that this code works on the arcade cabinet as well. I watched so many people double take at my local arcade when Dan had the #1 top spot on the scoreboard followed by Akuma and Devilotte. it was set to free play, So I would occasionally see someone start it up and mumble, to themselves trying to find the hidden characters.

with me and my friends, we realized that Hsien Ko is actually fairly easy to mitigate because if you just have a slant, her stuff actually lines up into perfect lines to combo into each other. Chun Li is the opposite; her trash only looks like it would form giant diamonds for you to break, but that's only if your plane is perfectly flat. if you have any height differences, it'll start landing ajar to each other and actually take more time to clear. Also for Dan, I usually just rapid-fire small trash at the opponent rather than go for a single kill. This is because it ends up staggering the timers and causes it to be harder to clear. I just had to keep this up before they get a diamond tho. Beat Hard Akuma this way.

Pro tip when playing as Dan: If you aren’t going to kill them before the 5 turn junk block timer is up, don’t attack. Since a single red crash gem will instantly end you, you have to win in one hit or a few quick big hits.

Dan actually drops twice as many blocks as the average character. The strategy is to make one great big impressive combo break to completely bury your opponent before they have a chance to counter. Your opponent can actually reduce the strength of an incoming attack by breaking gems before it hits. As such, you have to make a combo SO UTTERLY AMAZING that opponent can't possibly survive it.

Pocket fighters is one of my favorite fighting games on the PS1 I played that for weeks with my brother and friends. And still pop it inside my PS3 to play at times (PS3 is still backward compatible with PS1 games)

I've never played this game before, but it reminds me a lot of Dr. Mario 64. Some of the versus matches in that were quite hectic. It even had a story mode with extra unlockable characters at the end if you got there without losing once, "Akuma style".
