I am a huge fan Dan & that is so much for all you do. I’be followed you for awhile now & love my charging sprayer you recommended. In fact, I bought 2, 1 for bugs & 1 for food. Also now use mico whenever I plant in my garden & you motivated me to buy a greenhouse, which I love. Any chance you have any left Dan? I grow everything from seed & would love to grow tree collards. I know I am late but although I usually view your videos the day you post them, I’ve had my sweet baby boy cat in the hospital for 3 nights with something called a blocked uterus. He is healing slowly but everything has been put on the back burner. I am also glad you are back posting again. I was worried you got sick & were in the hospital because it was so unlike you not to post often.

I think I'm somewhere near you in Walnut Creek area and have been growing a Purple Tree collard in a pot, probably the Richmond variety. Cuttings have not done well in my wood chipped clay soil in the foothills, and my composted potted plant is nowhere near as lush and beautiful as yours, though tall. Thanks for the opportunity to try your cultivars! I'll follow inserted directions.

I got seeds last year. Life got in the way and I didn't get to start them. This spring I started half the seeds. I knew there were more than 20 seeds but just guessed at half. I got 24 beautiful little seedlings! Now I have 24 (still) happy plants just starting to show their very own characteristics. Can't wait to start tasting them!

Hello I wanted to know something about Collards in general, I'm in West Central Texas I want to say Zone 8, being that the zones have changed this past year, my wife and I planted Southern Collards this Spring for the first time, and they are still growing. So I'm not sure what's going on, we picked and ate some in December and man are still are good. We were wondering if they will die out , we planted about 15 to 20 seeds and the all germinated, couldn't believe it. The trunks on these plants are about 3 to 4 inch's thick and some of the leaves are massive. I don't know what's in the soil, we just cleared a 30 x 40 plot and planted, no fertilizer or anything ,and everything grew like crazy, but the Collard's is what has me stumped at this point. They are still going.

It is good to eat the young tender greens raw such as in a smoothie. When we cook greens I believe it deteriorates some of the nutrients. I cut them and rinse and then blanch for about 2 minutes to kill off any tiny bugs. And throw them into my smoothie with fresh wild blackberries and/or bananas. God is good!

The problem for us in the EU is that the seller must provide a certificate. Getting seeds from the US has become really difficult.
