Dan the Star Man presents Hanukkah Storyteller | Epcot International Festival of the Holidays 2024

On today's episode of Dan the Star Man, I present to you all one of the Storytelling shows in Epcot International Festival of the Holidays 2024. Today I present you the Hanukkah Storytelling show. The important thing to learn about Hanukkah is center part of the menorah is the shamash, and the shamash reminds us of the good that we can bring to others. Also Hanukkah is a holiday celebrated by the Jewish ancestors the Macabees. So I hope you all enjoy the Hanukkah Storytelling show.
Hanukkah Storytelling
Discover the music and traditions of Hanukkah as a traveling storyteller recounts how the Festival of Light is celebrated around the world. You’ll even notice the person who does the show is the exact same guy, the same person named Zachary, from last year.
It takes place between the Morocco and France pavilions of Epcot.
The Hanukkah Storytelling show goes live in the following showtimes at 12PM, 1PM, 1:50PM, 2:50PM, 3:45PM, 5:05PM, 5:50PM, and 6:30PM.

A GREAT MIRACLE HAPPENED THERE
Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an 8-day celebration honoring the trials and tribulations faced by the Macabees in Israel between 160 and 166 BCE. Named for their leader, Judah Macabee, the small band of Jews stood up against a large army to reclaim the Second Temple from the Seleucid Empire.
Following the battle, Judah led the Macabees in cleansing the temple. They rebuilt the altar and lit the menorah, a 7-branched candelabra. However, they found only enough oil to last 1 night. Miraculously, the central light of the menorah remained lit for 8 days, allowing the Macabees to cleanse the temple and find more oil.
Today, Jews around the world celebrate the miracle of Hanukkah with family, food and fun. At sundown on each night of Hanukkah, families and communities light the Hanukkiah, a 9-branched menorah that represents the 8 days of light, with a central branch, called the shamash, that is used to light the others. People share a feast of foods cooked in oil, such as fried potato latkes, and exchange presents. They also play games with the dreidel, a 4-sided top with Hebrew letters on it that come together to represent the phrase “a great miracle happened there”.
