I swear this song is about my uncle Larry Hartlerode. Larry was guitar, banjo fiddlin, hootenanny yodelin old school story teller like no other. He taught me how to stand up for my rights and be a good father. He died almost two years ago and it has been the hardest two years of my life, but Larry will live on forever as a legend. Thank you for this great song. You made a fan for life.

I'm not sure it's possible for me to love this song more than I already do. Absolutely beautiful. It crystallizes a message that rings 100% true to the experience of loss, grief, and love... and the music matches it so perfectly. It speaks to my core. I *always* turn up my SiriusXM radio when it comes on. Dan, this one's going into bluegrass canon.

Great job Dan! Now that’s some great writing, playing and singing! Tony was a one of a kind, and Lord knows, he gave me more with his music, than someone would if they gave me a million dollars.

I just love your voice, this song let's you show off a little allowing us to hear you push it to hit those higher, stronger notes...just makes me fall even deeper inlove with your music. I can hear each instrument so crisp, it's like I'm sitting in the presence while you all play. Thank you for sharing your beautiful, God given talents with us.
