Listening to him perform "Hallelujah" as a one-man choir with over 100 takes of all the voices is truly an incredible experience. The result is a powerful and beautiful rendition that showcases his remarkable vocal range and musical prowess.

Each little Dan is a unique recording ... none are duplicates! He recorded each part 3-4 times so he could pick the best to use, so that is 75 to 100 recordings that he then had to piece together like a giant vocal and visual jigsaw puzzle. Dan called this his Insanity, lol!

This is undoubtedly a masterpiece showing off his tenacity and the incredible mastery of his craft. He always gives us 100% in his performances and this shows his vocal range is unmatched. Many thanks for sharing your thoughts on Dan’s work, it’s truly appreciated. It’s difficult to know what to recommend that you should react to next as he has so many phenomenal renditions to choose from. Perhaps try “Last Ride Of The Day” a Nightwish cover but to be honest you could pick any of his songs and find it’s amazing. : )

I believe that Dan commented once that this was a moment of insanity. We agree, it is insanely unbelievable how he could accomplish this but it is what we have come to expect from Dan. He has a 4 octave range and when asked recently what is the highest he could sing he answered that the final scream of I'll Make a Man Out of You is probably the highest. I concur with suggestions below that A Tale Without End by Dan and Fearless is a must and also that his cover of Adele's Rolling in the Deep is outstanding, also. From what I understand, Dan sang in three different vocal ranges. Each group of eight sang differently. I can’t begin to imagine the work that went into this one. Thanks for reacting to this one.

Hi Shirley, it's actually 4 parts , 6 Dans for each part. Basses top tight, tenors bottom right, altos bottom left, and sopranos top left. Quite impressive, yes!

Hi, thanks for reacting, and I'm not surprised that you were at a loss for words. Once when I was playing an audio track of this, my husband came in and said, "Oh, which choir is this?" and I said, "It's Dan," and he replied, ""But he's got sopranos singing with him!" 😀 This is truly a remarkable feat of singing and production. By the way, the high metal scream in I'll Make a Man Out of You is a G#5, and he's done a lot of those, but he's actually gone higher according to Range Planet, which shows his range as D2 to B5, which is just 2 steps under 4 octaves. There are only a few of the very lowest and very highest, but still! The note in Bohemian Rhapsody is very high - Bflat5. A song where he's very high for almost the whole song is Wuthering Heights - incredible, with gorgeous and seamless shifts between registers. For a great look at Dan's multiple ranges, styles, and techniques, as well as his recording and editing skills, I suggest Bring Me to Life. You will again be astonished, I promise. Another terrific one is Spread Your Fire. Thanks so much.

A Tale Without End is the only song from their original album, Chronicals of Ancient Wisdom that has a video showing the band playing. Tried to find out Dan's vocal range on this cover but I will keep digging. To give you an idea his range is D2 - B5 for "More Than a Feeling" but he has been noted to have a very high pitch to C6 as heard in this song, high for a male. Anyway you look at it he's incredible, a very clever man, truly a gift from God. I don't know if you noticed when he was singing the super high notes, one Dan looked at watch I had to laugh.
