Second to last one I'm sharing from the album here.
I had the album written two days before I recorded it and I decided that two songs needed to be ditched in place for something else. So I wrote this one and 'Sleep Now' in the same day and two days later I'd recorded them.
I was really on a role when I was recording the album and I got this song done in one take, and then followed it up with 'Sleep Now' which was a one taker too.
Work To The Bone has been my favourite song to play live. No doubt about it. It's a song that gives a lot to me and it's a way for me to let out my frustrations of the grind that I've felt over the years as a working musician. I just kind of hid the true meaning of the song in the lyrics, so it is also about something real and historical with the colonialism of America and how coffee was a part of that and was kept from the very people who's land it came from. But hey, if you're being ground down by 'the man' it's a song for you too.
