Dan Wesson Guardian 45acp Impressions and Review

Finally found a Guardian in .38 Super over the weekend. Took it to the range today and it performed flawlessly. Absolutely LOVE it!

You should try .38 Super if you get the chance. I love 45's (like you) and this caliber is definitely more fun for me to shoot than 9mm.

One of these may become available in new condition in the next couple of days where I live which as far as I can tell from Dan Wesson is a limited issue of a discontinued model. Very nice you were able to find one in fine condition with the Wilson Combat mags and other grips. Thanks for this video and have watched you comparison with the Sig Sauer Emperor Scorpion Carry which I have not been able to obtain and wanted after watching your original Sig Sauer video earlier this year and subscribing. @RE:Desert_Boy The Guardian is still available from what I see on their website. They discontinued and bring back often that it gets confusing. Most people don't think of the 1911 as a viable pick this days. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it! Stay safe! 👍🇺🇲

@@KeanonGilliamSlang369 The Guardian did become available and did not want to wait too long and put it on lay away....am looking forward to the day I pick it up. It was down to the Emperor Scorpion Carry which you have and reviewed and compared to the Guardian....I had always wanted the Dan Wesson CBOB Classic, however I think I am going to like the 28.5 oz weight compared to that one and still with a bobbed mainspring housing and still Commander size. Thanks again and will let you know how it turns out and will do a couple videos on it on my channel as well.

That mainspring housing is a ‘skip line’ model from Ed Brown.

Keanon, do you know offhand which hollow points will run reliably in the DW Guardian 45?

Went ahead and picked it up. Shot 100 dmj so far. Does yours handle hollow points well. I will try those next

@@tomglpn I shot 800 rounds before using hollow points. I use Federal HSTs and/Sig Sauer Elite JHP 230gr. No issues.

@@KeanonGilliamSlang369 sounds good thanks, mine is used as well, but by the look of it, i would not estimate more than a couple hundred fired before i took ownership. After 100 rds i can already tell a difference in how it runs.

@@WickederThanThou No, when I was in law enforcement we had women that shot 45s. There is a 9mm version of this same firearm if you're concerned about the recoil.

Is the Guardian's alloy frame sturdy enough to handle being chambered in .357 Sig?

The Guardian only comes in 9mm, 38 Super and 45acp. Sorry, I really don't know if it can handle .357 Sig. Thanks for watching.
