Carvey was (and still is) a comedic genius.

I've said the quote... I'm robin leach and I don't know why.... Ever since I heard it way when it first appeared on tv and I don't know why!

Comedian Freddy Lewis did an excellent Robin Leach impression. He used to sign autographs as Freddy Leach.

Leach was at an early WrestleMania and he says, "I'm Robin Leach and I DO know why." Though I knew Leach from Lifestyles, and I somewhat regularly watched SNL, I never knew what he meant. I guess, I'd somehow never seen this particular skit. Weird, now that I've put it all together and solved a 35 year old mystery for myself 😂

"I'm Robin Leach and I DO know why." He said the same thing during one of the times that he was on The New Hollywood Squares in the mid/late 1980s. I knew what he meant because, even though I hadn't yet heard Dana Carvey do Robin Leach, I'd heard kids at school doing Dana Carvey doing Robin Leach.

Little known fact: Comedian Freddy Lewis stopped watching “Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous” because they refused to feature his 1 bedroom apartment! xoxo The Clarences

"A million dollars" doesn't have quite the same mystique it did back then. Doesn't even get you a house in the burbs anymore.

“100 BILLION DOLLARS!” - Mike Meyers took Dana Carvey’s concept for Dr. Evil and turned into a franchise. Not sure Dana is ever going to get over that…
