Do you not think you're judging too harshly?. I've only seen this clip so maybe you are right but in THIS clip it's just 2 people having a conversation. Sometimes one has more to say than the other but it seems ok to me.

Plot twist: Bill Maher smoked so much weed he assumed he was talking to Dana White until @0:48 when Dana Carvey mentioned doing standup in 1976.

The key to Robin wasn't just his comedy, lots of people are funny and talented. Very few people on earth bring out the love in mass amounts of people. Robin had an "it" factor but it wasn't show business related, he connected to mass amounts of people, from kids to adults. I think we saw what we wanted to be in Robin and I think he showed us what he wanted to be through himself.

Robin Williams was Falstaff for Millennials. Saw his HBO Live on Broadway 2002 when I was 15, and Bill is right; the audience just exploded in communal laughter at most bits. Some of the jokes are dated (Iraq war & Bush the younger stuff) but the Invention of Golf and Oral Sex After Viagra Orgasm are still hilarious.

I just finished this recently, and didn't learn much, but I get that that's probably the point of this "loose" format, and especially since Maher's other big "thing" is very dense with info and policy. Anyway, I really didn't care how Bill tried taking a shot at Mike Meyers, and thankfully, Dana didn't take that bait, as their relationship seems to have been greatly repaired as the years have gone by.

I definitely had the thought that Robin Williams wouldn't purposefully steal comedy (of course I can't know and only judge from what I see of the man). He loved comedy and took and interest in it, even outside his own performances he would watch other shows, that didn't mean he was TRYING to copy others but if you have the sort of brain that takes in all this stuff and if you watch him he goes a million miles an hour spewing it out, you're bound to repeat something you didn't even know you got from somewhere else. It's a shame really, as if he watches shows and did repeat something he'd be criticized for it but he'd need to give up watching comedy completely to avoid that. Sometimes we need to accept that human beings influence each other everyday and sometimes it's pure selfish behaviour and others it's just how our brains work and there is no purposeful bad intention behind it.

I do enjoy listening to two comedians chit chat for some reason. Moreso than any other profession, I don't know why. Billy boy thinks he's clever cuz he can rightfully make fun of the Christians (which needs to be done, so I applaud him) but he won't shut up when one of his guests are about to attempt to make a possible amusing point... Also he's like some terrible child that just does things that are illegal because he thinks it's cool or something because if you told him that oranges were illegal he would be having oranges during his podcast. People that smoke weed are usually horrible people whereas people that take opiates are usually not and I say this with confidence because one only needs to realize that opiate users are trying to get more in touch with themselves while weed smokers are trying to get away from themselves... the emergences from both will always illustrate the differences in the individuals. Hichens hated him... Sorry Billy But you got a trillion dollars now so just puff puff puff you poof lolll

I didn’t find Robin very funny. I think he was very smart and had moments, but most of the time he seemed to be begging for laughter and people gave it. Throwing out 800 esoteric references in a row is a unique talent all its own, but just not funny to me. There’s a video of him on a talk show with Stephen Fry where he just wouldn’t shut up, and I think his presence was a negative. None of this takes away from the fact that he seemed like a genuinely sweet person and I wish he was still here. It’s just about his place in comedy.
