UFC pays their fighters 16% of the profit from an event while every other martial arts organisations (mma, boxing etc) pays around 50%. Free choice to fight for them or watch but let's not be naive about what Dana and the UFC cares about the most and what their moral standards are. If UFC fighters got paid the same as boxers Dana wouldn't have to pay for a fighters housing. And it's pocket change what he paid. He spends more of the fighters money at the casinos.

Dana gets plenty of flack for his hardened exterior, but there's simply no way in hell you could surround yourself with hardcore combat athletes and still be fully in control of a company the size of the UFC without having armor-plated skin, and impervious to all the criticism.
