No he wasn’t Joey. The knocked down fighter was making an attempt to defend himself, the fighter made it awkward but just standing there instead of finishing it. When is JUST AS dangerous is telling “sToP tHe FiGhT” from outside the ring. In other situation, herb could have interpreted that as a ringside doctor and stopped a fight that should never have been stopped. Dan’s job is to commentate. He doesn’t know anything about refereeing. Dan wasn’t right at all in this case. You don’t yell across the ring like that.

Idk how the narrative of Hardy approaching Herb even came about. Dan is still at the commentary table. Herb is at the side of the cage and Herb was the first person to initiate conversation. Not to mention that Dean was wildly in the wrong. Herb now has a reputation for fucking up stoppages. A few too late and many many, are way too early. Dana even called him out for his history of shitty stoppages recently. The guy is washed as a ref. How about Sticking up for your employee Dana.? "If anyone working the venue through a 3rd party such as security, judges or referees attempt to harass or approach any of my employees you will never work a ufc event again. That stoppage is the kind of stoppage that champions like kazushi Sakuraba, Frankie Edgar, Dominick cruz and tj dillashaw want. Every apex competitor worth a title shot want that assurance from the ref, you'll give them all the opportunity to lose a fight on their terms because these fighters want to know their stoppages were warranted. They don't want any what if regrets, after the fight.

Kyle Riles Paul Felder stood up and shouted “Stop the fight!” during the Boser/Pessoa fight, but no one is talking about it because Herb went to Dan’s table. And if I see a an unconscious man taking unnecessary damage, I’d tell the ref how to do his job too. The fact that Herb was late in his call is getting overshadowed by people’s beef with Dan. Herb was wrong in being late, and he should take responsibility for that.

People might say dan hardy is right, but u can’t interfere with the referee’s work..he is responsible for his decision..refereeing in an mma fight is not an easy job, it has many factors to take into consideration..this is a brutal game ,so expect a war inside the ring..Dana is just right of what he’d said..I feel sorry for dan hardy, he wasn’t able to control his nerve. For all the referees, herb dean used to give fighters a enormous chance in a dreadful situation, to recover, to fight back..so many fighters will prefer herb dean to referee them,coz @ least they have a chance to bounce back from defeat...and injuries, serious or not are common in mma

What a hypocrite? He says he'll fire someone on the spot for approaching a judge or a referee but won't fire himself for slapping his wife. I don't know how the UFC kept him after watching a video of him slapping his wife. Imagine if a CEO at Coke or any other large company did the same thing and the video came out, do you think they would keep their job. I guess it's ok to slap your wife around as long as you don't approach a judge or referee.

Everyone got mad at Dana for this but in any other sport if you even say the wrong word in the direction of a referee or umpire you get massively penalized..

Conor and Jon Jones can get away with anything short of murder. Conor punches an old man in the face, Jon beats his wife in front of their children and Dana just shrugs. They still have a place within the UFC. Dan yells at a ref for a terrible call and he's fired.
