That's like you saying your relative is incredible at football because he scored 5 goals against some team. If that team is nothing then it means nothing. However if he scored those 5 goals against Liverpool or Chelsea then I'd sit up and take notice making sure I kept tabs on him. None of them have ended up dominating the sport and getting a title shot in the BIG LEAGUES. And whether you like it or not, until you reach the ufc, nothing is close to being big leagues. So those "names" you reeled off to me didn't and wouldnt impress me at all. Not one bit.
@carson27252 жыл бұрын
@@jaycuthbert245 the fact that you consider only the UFC to be the "big leagues" and that Bellator and ONE aren't top competition is laughable. ONE FC is the biggest MMA promotion in the East. Hell, DJ got his first KO loss in his career over there after cleaning out the entire UFC FW roster. To say that competition in ONE like Aoki is low level is laughable. And the fact that you have no clue who Koreshkov or the-monster-that-is-Douglas-Lima in Bellator are, just shows that you're a casual that knows nothing of the sport outside of the UFC.

Yeah I had a friend like that in HS. I felt so bad for him, he had no communication skills whatsoever and never failed to make whoever he was talking to feel awkward. I would feel bad cause I would call him out, like “Larry are you gonna shut up anytime soon? Are you never not annoying?” And the group would laugh at what I said. But I think it was best for him cause I don’t think anyone ever really called him out like that, I think in 5 years he’ll thank me lol. Cause he would kind of get quiet and mad at me for what I said. He’d follow up with a passive aggressive response. And I’d be like “don’t get mad at me for calling you out, fix your insecurity. if you really were confident in yourself, you wouldn’t get mad at what I said, you’d just tell me to shut the fuck up” but he knew in himself that he was cringe and he probably didn’t wanna be seen that way

Because he just didn't care enough to do anything extra since the wrestling was always so good that it kinda masked how bad his striking was, but now in the UFC where most fighters know how to grapple AND strike, that's pretty much why he got thrashed by everyone there, even the lawler fight was a big bad ref decision, Robbie woulda destroyed him. His move to the UFC did prove something, that no matter what people say or try to convince you, UFC fighters are levels ahead of other competitors. Bellator is barely starting to take shape and get decen fighters of their own, when Ben fought there they were not as good, and in ONE FC, well they have VERY good strikers, but for an asian promotion with mostly asian athletes, those dudes don't wrestle or grapple much, they focus 90% of their time on kickboxing and muay thai.

Dana really doesnt mind the trade just think about it. DJ Wanted out, he was underpaid and never truly appreciated by the UFC. UFC got fun moments from Ben, yes he got KOd by Jorge but that KO was massive went viral shot Jorge up into stardom ( if you want to call it that ) that fight lead to Jorge vs Nate for the BMF Title which headlined its own PPV in Madison Square Garden ( Again another big win for the UFC ) PPV did good numbers and Jorge came in 1 week or 2 week notice to fight Usman. Dont forget Ben went onto box Jake and got a massive payday for that one too. So please explain to me how this was the worse trade in MMA history? Literally everyone won in that trade. Ben won, DJ won ( and hes much happier, per his own words ) UFC definetely won.

Anybody that gets inside the octagon deserves respect. Most people wouldn't even want to fight a person even if they were guaranteed to win, or if no one else would see it. The mental toughness required to get in there and risk getting knocked out or submitted or embarrassed in any way is huge. People look at fighters like they're just another kind of athlete, but they really aren't. The thrill of victory and the sting of defeat are multiplied by 10 , compared to regular team sports or other individual sports. Losing a fight can be catastrophic for your self esteem and your psyche, especially if you get dominated or lose in a humiliating way. When you talk about MMA or UFC online, you always have to remember that it's easy for unathletic keyboard warriors to talk shit sitting in front of a screen at home. Askren gets a lot of hate online, and his personality makes him unlikable, but the people disparaging him online wouldn't say a word to his face, I guarantee it.

His face did so much damage to Masvidal’s knee that Jorge fell to the grown and started tapping out practically begging for the ref to stop the fight before anymore damage was done to his knee.
