Great video! very informational and i think it was important how you explained the reasoning behind each upgrade and which upgrades you would recommend first if people were on a budget as to reach horsepower goals safely and reliably. I definitely think the biggest take away i got from this video was keeping the engine happy and safe at those horsepower levels with use of a good tune and utilizing meth kits appropriately.

Exactly, I want to see more high hp. Reliable 7M's out there. Its in my interest to help anyone that wants to climb that latter to bigger numbers and if that means putting together a general guide on the cheap then I will do it. We get way more detailed in the 3rd video for that 1k mark. Its the 7M Revolution. JZ stuff after this and some tech videos coming down the line on the 12v mod and the IS300 coil pack upgrade.

Dana-Anthony Hoeft quick question when you get a chance, I was looking for an in line fuel pump style due to switching to a fuel cell that doesn’t have a in tank hangar and realized drift motion only carries 255lph Walbro in line pumps. Does the 255lph differ much from 450lph in tank? My plans are to replace the rusty oem gas tank with fuel cell and reliable in line pump with hp goals of 600whp one day so when that day comes would running two 255lph Walbro in line style pumps be sufficient?
@DanaAnthonyHoeft5 жыл бұрын
@@xyzebruh1083 2 walbro's will get you there. If you want to keep it simple and stay inline I would go BOSCH 044 inline. driftmotion has them. Will see you north of 600

Thank you for your information. I just got my first supra turbo model and am truly in love with this car. I am currently trying to get 10 years of past due maintenance done over the next 3 months. All my cars have been naturally aspirated and stock motors so far so it is kind of intimidating for me to try to understand what to do an where to go for increasing horsepower an dealing with a turbo set up. I am wanting to make about 350hp an 400ftlbs of torque after I get everything else done. I am a disabled combat veteran on a limited income so I appreciate the budget build myself. I am in washington state an would love to work with you on this some day if you do the actual tuning work. Look forward to learning more from the mk3 community.

Awesome to hear you got one, Glad to have you a part of the community. Building a car in most cases is more time than money. Its the time that many fail to spend to really think out the project from A to Z and budget for the goals.

Thanks for sharing; Why not the ECU masters from Driftmotion?
@Shwalker075 жыл бұрын
I run the ECU Masters classic on my 7mGTE and it is a great standalone with so many features. Besides all the inputs, outputs and fail-safes I like how the standalone fires the factory 7m coils and the fuel injectors are now sequential injected instead of the batch fired factory set-up. The box of oem parts that were no longer needed was nice to clean up the engine bay as well.

lol thats a good question. Ecus have came so far in the last couple years. AEM v2/MS3/ECUm all very comparable. I would recommend talking with your tuner on what they are most comfortable tuning and go from there. If I had to pick one I would still pick AEM. but, Im weird haha

This is my setup, I’d like your opinion - port and polish head INT. 217cfm @ .400" valve lift EXH. 173cfm @ .400" valve lift - Wiseco forged pistons - AEM V2 - AEM 320LPH pump (direct feed to battery) - Aeromotive FPR - Bosch 750cc low impedance injectors - Sequential ignition on DH61 igniter with denso coils - hybrid Custom profile HX40 Turbine wheel and HX40 Compressor - Drift motion hall CPS - 3” cat less exhaust - HKS MHG - New block - Stock rod and crank Tuner has it running about 18-20psi (my boost gauge isn’t tapped direct into the manifold so it’s about 4psi low he says). What is your guess for safe boost levels on this setup?
@DanaAnthonyHoeft4 жыл бұрын
I dont think there will be much change in boost ref between your gauge and what the intake mani is seeing. If its tapped into any vac line off that mani Id say it will be pretty bang on. as for safe boost levels I cant speak to that much. Thats up to your tunner to find the best combination of ignition timing, fuel/boost levels before bringing the engine into knock or running out of fuel pump. Sounds awesome man, keep on keeping on with it. let us know what kinda power it ends up making

What's your opinion on oil fill? The guy I bought my mk3 from said he runs +1quart
@DanaAnthonyHoeft5 жыл бұрын
+ 1 quart may be a little on the high side. I do run my car over full a tad but not a full tin of oil. maybe 1/4 of what you run. If you where drifting or road racing with some sticky tires and where running an un-baffled oil pan I could see leaving it so far over full in fear of oil slosh starving your engine. But, 1/4 quart has served me well.

At what point to do you recommend stepping past the 3 inch exhaust? Also have you heard of any one staggering say 4 inch downpipe to a 3 inch catback to keep it quiet?
@DanaAnthonyHoeft4 жыл бұрын
A 3 inch pipe will become a restriction for our cars above that 650/700 range. Yes you can make more hp than that through a 3" pipe but it will be a choke point for hp. Yep, pretty common to see a big turbo car go from a 4 inch to 3 inch set up or even larger like a 5-4 inch drop but is usually more to save on cost of a whole new exhaust for a time and has little affect on overall noise.
