Nice video, I spent about 15k parts labor and all the goodies for a seriously dependable 600ish hp build. 1000hp for me now would only be bottom end / injectors / clutch and beef up the R154. All that said lol, I’m going 2012 GTR in 2 years

Have you ever heard or seen any modifications to the 7M block as to adding more cooling passages that toyota never casted them Just wondering if it’s worth the extra work and money???
@DanaAnthonyHoeft4 жыл бұрын
No ive never seen that done to the block. Personally id leave as much meat in the block as possible for strength

ignition system? coil on plug and such? Thanks for the pathway to big power!
@DanaAnthonyHoeft4 жыл бұрын
Passing 7-800 wheel will stress any ignition set up. With a car running stand alone your ignition options are endless. The most accurate way to monitor engine timing is a crank trigger set up. Hall sensor (magnetic) counts teeth on a wheel fixed to the crank pulley as the engine spins. Lots of info out there and options on how too. Your tuner will also have his imput on whats worked best for him in the past. once you have a trigger set up you can look into a means of making spark, MSD and many different companies out there offer great cheap solutions to check the ignition box off your list. Then its coil plug time. 2jz/LS/R35 coils have all been done and have beenn tested reliable for many people. You will have to build a harness to go from your ignition box to your plugs and battabing. Thats the general on coil on plug

@DanaAnthonyHoeft3 жыл бұрын
@@55degreesnorth7 Easiest way would be to find a used turbo harness and ecu and make the swap over turbo ecu/harness and ignition set up. easiest way to get rid of that distributer

I'm sad you said that this head will spit shims out. I'm shooting for 800 out of my 7M and Im assembling everyhing I need to build the head. I've got a set of 272 BC cams that will be going in and I was really hoping I wouldn't have to change buckets. Are the ones you mentioned a shim under bucket style?
@DanaAnthonyHoeft4 жыл бұрын
1L Vitz are solid buckets no shims
@xmalcom81984 жыл бұрын
Dude does your buddy at Ted cams still make cams? Those BC stage 3 cams are only like 872 lift you dont have to worry about shiming them! Please tell me that guy makes camshafts up there because I'm trying to find somebody to make a bigger cam LOL help me out if you can my name is Kyle!

With any more cam than a 264 shim-less buckets are needed

I have been thinking about dry dumping my oil system for extra protection. In your experience how does the oil system hold up with full engine builds?
@DanaAnthonyHoeft4 жыл бұрын
Dry sump is an awesome option, would be more custom set up than anything as there are no off the shelf kits for our cars. I am working with a small company to develop a bolt on kit. Youd have to give up power steering to make room for the pump. Factory oiling system has always done the job for me. ARZ oil pick up tube and you could shim the pump a little if you wanted.
