@@Ghost200x You are definetly right, i mean Freya telling Kratos that she would beat him is obvious joke... Kratos knows it, Mimir knows it and even Freya knows it. Honestly, her "vengeance" against Kratos always looked more like deathwish to me. She lost her son and was forcefully bound to the Midgard so that she could not leave. IMHO, she didn't want to live anymore and even if she could fatally wound Kratos, she would not leave that fight alive(or she would and Atreus would eventually hunted and killed her, maybe even with Odin's help). Kratos didn't want to fight and kill her, but she wanted him to. He is freakin' God of War, who literally wiped WHOLE PANTHEON of the beings like him and her. And after their mission in Vanaheim, where Kratos helped Freya break the Odin's curse, these thoughts were only reinforced. I mean if she really wanted to inflict pain and suffering on Kratos, she would've killed Atreus when he came to her(that would be even better vengeance than killing Kratos himself) AND was wearing the mistletoe shard which was responsible for breaking Baldur's curse(technically Baldur's death was more Atreus's fault than Kratos's, if he didn't have that mistletoe arrow shard, Baldur would be still alive). But she didn't want to. She couldn't. She wanted the one, who was capable of killing her.

If you're concept of holding back is that he doesn't just rip everything in pieces and going in head first like some wild animal, then yeah, that he's holding back. They also really did want to kill Odin. Kratos is actually going all out to put him down, alongside Atreus and Freya. I think you guys misunderstand me. I said this cause I really liked that change in her, due how much she hated kratos and mimir (two people who bring suffer in her life in their own ways), i apreciated that, she is indeed strong to put her hatred aside and see who is the real enemy and make fiends with them both. That's all, I don't want her to keep hating them at all.

Kratos:during my siege of olympus, I was confronted by hercules, a demi god who once held up the sky itself with his raw strength, he challenged me for the title of God of war, I overpowered him... Mimir:I think I've heard of him, wasn't he a child of zeus' as well? Kratos:yes, I tried to reason with him, but he would not listen... Freya: *(finally starting to realise she might not be able to take kratos)*

Because remember Scandinavian mythology even Vikings didn't have or ate olives in their region so of course Mimir won't know despite him being the smartest man alive (maybe in his region but not all regions of mythologies around the world) which makes sense for him even Freya to be dumbfounded by his response on food that was only available in his region.

It’s poetic in a way. Kratos misses “Olives” from his homeland. Coincidentally the phrase “Extend the olive branch” is often meant to offer to a foe a truce or peace. Kratos spent much of the game wanting to avoid war at all cost.

What I find interesting is to use really god scale meaning like city buster or mountain scale attacks, they are conditional. Like Freya revived and controlled a Giant that was only slightly smaller than Cronus. So the Norse gods can compete with the Greek ones just for them it’s harder?
@peterwhite64152 жыл бұрын
I think part of it is that they require Rituals and Focus items to be able to do alot of their big spells. Baldurs Curse/Blessing likely took time for Freya to make and place on him (via tattoos). We dont really see it in the Baldur Fight but Freya took a good while to Animate the Giant, so its possble she had to use certain items to do it. In Odins fight we see alot more of it from the way he uses his spear to cast spells or when he stabs/burns a book to buff himself or give him a protection. Greek gods are more RAW power but is more restricted in comparisson, they can blast people with their magic but soem require instruments or weapons to be more effective, wich makes Hephautus alot more important imo.
@SemiOmni3142 жыл бұрын
imo, Freya just isn't a strength-based God. We know Baldur can deck Jormungandr, and he's just the God of Light. Not to mention Thor somehow took the Thamur's Chisel and stabbed Thamur through the head,.
@calebstephan20832 жыл бұрын
Titans were the gods that ruled before the Olympians and they all had powers similar to the gods. Giants are mostly not all warriors and most of them don't have magic suitable for combat. The only two warrior giants capable of fighting against gods were Faye and that giant with multiple arms that Mimir mentioned. It's also stated in the games that the giants lost every war they had against the gods.

People always say Freya wouldn't stand a chance against Kratos, but actually I think if anyone COULD, it'd be her. Kratos respects her highly (he called her "impressive", could "imagine no more formidable ally", told her she "uses her anger effectively" which was a huge deal with Atreus last game, etc), she parallels him in MANY WAYS, hell she's practically the Norse Kratos in this story. A victim of the gods' cruelty, loses her son to a god she only ever HELPED, is fighting with her brother due to unfortunate misunderstandings, was the leader of her people and is clearly a fine warrior and magic-user. In their actual fight, during the cutscenes she actually comes out better off. At the very end, it's HER sword to HIS throat. People think she doesn't stand a chance... I think she very much DOES. She's too Kratos-like to not be capable of it. That's her POINT. She's SUPPOSED to be eerily similar to Kratos in those ways, it's how they bond so well once they start talking in Vanaheim. It's what leads her to forgiving him for Baldur.
